Character dinind with 10 yr old

Okay my daughter is a total TOMBOY. (just like her Mom, me) What do you guys think about dining with character with a tomboy 10 year old. Is it a little cheesy? Or do you have any other suggestions?

Re: Character dinind with 10 yr old

I went to LTT with DS15, DS11, and DD14 (also kinda tombyish, more sporty). They kinda did the eye roll thingie when I told them I made the ADR, but when we went they had a great time. I'm glad I didn't let them talk me out of it.

They wouldn't have done a princessy kind of thing but Minnie and the gang were okay with them.

I would vote for Chef Mickeys. Kids of all ages really seem to enjoy it.

Maybe Mickey's Backyard BBQ or instead of Character dining Whispering Canyon or the Hoop Dee Do Revue.

Re: Character dinind with 10 yr old

I think it's fine. Just do a couple like chef mickey's, crystal palace or breakfastsaurus. They are just the basic characters (mickey and gang) and loved by girls, boys and yes, tomboys too.

I think if she loves WDW then she will love character dining. No waiting in lines, they come right to your table for pictures and to interact with your family. We've done Garden Grill, Chef Mickey's and Akershus. All of them were very good and everyone seemed to be in the spirit of things which helps. I think she'll love it.

Re: Character dinind with 10 yr old

My 10 year old daughter, who is also a tomboy, enjoyed our character meals at WDW. But, when we got home and downloaded our pics, we did find one of her giving Piglet bunny ears What can you do?

Re: Character dinind with 10 yr old

I like the Mickey's Backyard BBQ suggestion. We went with my daughter (then 5) and son (then 11) and they absolutely loved it! Another place my son still suggests at almost 13 is Chef Mickey's -- you can't help but have fun there !

As others have said, Chef Mickey's is a great choice for any age group. Also maybe check out Crystal Palace.

We've done character dining with our 10 year old daughter and 15 year old son at Crystal Palace, Goofy's Liberate your Appetite, Akershus Princess Dinner and the Royal Table. We had a great time. You're never too old for it!

Re: Character dinind with 10 yr old

I still think tomboy or no, that she and you will enjoy a character meal but I would go for something like Chef Mickeys, LTT Garden grill or Mickeys BBQ for a evening meal or a Breakfast somewhere like Ohana's.

Trust me, you'll both love it!
