sit down restaurants

Of the ones that we have been to, our favorite is the Flying Fish on the Boardwalk. They have wonderful seafood, great desserts and, each time we have been there, very attentive servers.

It is not Disney themed but we really enjoy the atmosphere.

I know you will get a lot of good suggestions, and I'm sure you won't go wrong with any of them.

Enjoy!

Welcome to DisneyCentral. Well, there are quite a few good ones. My favorites are Jiko, Artist's Point, Flying Fish, Spoodles and Le Cellier. Of course, there are others that are good, just depends upon your taste. Most of the restaurants in the deluxe resorts are good, and, some are great.

Let us know if you have any questions about particular restuarants, and we might be able to anwer that a little more easily.

Welcome to DC. It might help if you could tell us what are your favorite types of foods, what parks you're planning on visiting, where you'll be staying, etc. There are sooooo many great restaurants..........OOOOOOH, getting hungry just thinking about them.

Hi pukapuhio, welcome aboard.

As others have said, it would help to know what kind of foods you like and what kind of dining experience you have in mind. Disney sit-down restaurants run the gamut from very casual to quite formal and from moderately priced to very expensive.

My wife and I eat at a Disney restaurant probably a couple of times a month and have a lot of experience with many of the choices. I'll be happy to respond in more detail if you can provide a little more information.

Again, welcome!

Hi and Welcome! Dh and I spent a week at WDW for our first anniversary, too.

The best way to experience all of the great dining opportunities at WDW can be said in one word...Leisurely. Have a glass of wine, and definately save room for dessert!

Among our favorites are:

Artist Point at the Wilderness Lodge (great atmosphere)
Yachtsman Steakhouse at The Yacht Club (great atmosphere)
Coral Reef in Epcot (great lobster soup)
Tony's Town Square at the Magic Kingdom (romantic in a Disney-sort-of-way)
Fulton's Crab House at Downtown Disney (great crab and lobster)

Happy planning!

thanks for the replies thus far. we're really not too picky in terms of the type of food. to be more specific we were planning on the day of our anniversary to have a nice dinner somewhere. price isn't an issue. however, i guess dress code would be. i don't think my husband would like having to wear pants and shoes. he's a shorts and slippahs (flip flops) type of guy. someone mentioned jiko's. that caught my eye when i was browsing the restaurants on the wdw website. if you could give me more info about that restaurant, i'd appreciate it.

we'll be getting a 4 day park hopper pass and spending time in all the parks, going lightly over the stuff duplicated from disneyland. my husband worked at disneyland as a teen and we've been there so many times. i know some things are different at wdw, but that's ok. we're just staying at all star sports since we figured we wouldn't be around enough to take advantage of the perks of the better resorts. maybe if we get to visit again we'll do that.

thanks for the warm welcome and your suggestions.

Welcome aboard. You'll love this site and everyone is so nice. It does become very addicative. Anyway my DH and I were married in Disney last year at the Poly. We are also going to be spending our 1 year and 1 month anniv there also. (Hubby couldnt get the time off from work for June so we are going the following month) staying at the AKL. Anyway I would have to suggest to you for dinner on your anniversary the California grille on the top of the Contemporary resort, you can over look the magic kingdom and if you get a late reservation you can see the fireworks. Or my other suggestion would be the Coral Reef in Epcot next to the Living Seas. Just my thoughts. What ever you go with I know will be awesome... After all you will be in the most magical place on earth.:) :) :)

yes, i'm sure we'll have loads of fun no matter what we do. we're excited about going. as i mentioned previously my husband worked at disneyland in high school. that got him hooked on all things disney. he's never been to wdw and is very excited. i've been to wdw a couple of times, though the last time was nearly 10 years ago. and it was with my family who really didn't care too much about taking everything in. so i didn't get to explore everything in epcot and mgm studios. they also spoiled the fun in getting silly hats and wearing them all day and just being a kid. :)

I couldn't agree more with WEDINDISNEY. California Grill is an excellent choice that you both would thoroughly enjoy.

Another option that you might consider is Bistro de Paris in Epcot. Even though it's a fine French restaurant, there is no real dress code. My wife and I have dined there many times wearing shorts after a long day in the park. Nobody gives you a second glance.

Most visitors to Epcot don't even know Bistro de Paris exists but it's a very small, intimate restaurant that's located on the second floor above the well-known Chefs de France.

Bistro de Paris is a fine-dining experience with an emphasis on classic French cuisine in an elegant setting. Although more expensive than its sister restaurant below, Bistro de Paris is worth every penny if you're looking for a very special meal with a very special person. Well-known French chefs Paul Bocuse, Roger Vergé, and Gaston LeNôtre are the guys who created the concept, which is an offshoot of their original restaurant downstairs.

The food and service is among the best you'll find anywhere. And what could be more romantic than snuggling next to that special someone while crêpe suzette is flamed tableside?

The best tables are at the front of the restaurant, where you have a second-story view. If you time it right, you'll have a great view of the Tapestry of Dreams parade on the street below, or if you eat later, you'll be able to see the fireworks from Epcot's nightly closing show, Illuminations.

Wherever you go, though, I'm sure you'll have a great time!

Welcome to DC and congratulations on your upcomming Anniversary. I know I'll be in the minority here, but something I love to do, that I think is really romantic is going to Mexico in epcot. To be honest with you though, the only thing I've found I like are the Chicken Nachos. We went right at the end of lunch, and had margaritas and Nachos. It wasn't crowded at all during that time, and we sat at the edge and watched the boats going by down below. If you've never been in, It is really dark inside but I LOVE it! Even if you want to stop in, take a break, and just order margaritas, I think it's worth it. I definately wouldn't do it as your "one" good meal though, but it is something romantic to do while your there.

sounds like something my husband would enjoy. can't buy alcohol inside disneyland, so he's happy he can get some inside wdw. :)

Hands down if your looking for a special place for an Anniversary dinner you have to try V&A! It was wonderful and the food was great! It is a little pricey but I thought it was well worth the $$$$$'s! My DW and I did it last year for our anniversary!
