Help.........

We are heading to WDW in a few weeks and would like to try a restaurant that we have not tried yet. When we stayed there for a month we ate at a ton of places so now I can not decide where to go. We of course have our favorites, Brown Derby, Narcoosee's and the Crystal Palace but are looking for a change.

We have been looking through menus and now I am getting scared. Boma was one of the places where we were looking. I do not know if the kids (7 and 4) will like it. Any other suggestions? Is the food at San Angel in Mexico spicy? How is 9 dragons? Any restaurants in DTD area that is well worth the $$$$$?

Thank you

Re: Help.........

Well, first I'll start out by telling you that my 3 DSs are pretty picky eaters too, but even they were able to find some things they liked at Boma. DH and I loved Boma!

We have never been to San Angel, but would love to try it someday, but we would definitely have to do it without the DSs, they don't like anything spicy.

My oldest DS has eaten at 9 Dragons and wasn't that impressed. He said it was like most Chinese Restaurants we go to, but just more expensive. (He did say the service was slow when he was there also)

As far as DTD restaurants, we have tried the House of Blues and thought it was just so-so. We have tried Captain Jacks and thought it was also...just average. Rain Forest cafe was pretty good. We are trying Wolfgang Pucks Cafe in a couple of weeks, so I'll let you know about that when we get back, but I hear it has great reviews! Thats why we chose it for our next trip.

As far as Counter Service at DTD, you can't beat Earl of Sandwich and Wolfgang Puck Express, IMHO. They are both excellent and have a great selection compared to most CS places.

Re: Help.........

If I could choose any resteraunt to go to, I would choose California Grill or Flying Fish. Pricey, but I have never eaten better food. As Turnwrench says, it's one of those places where you can go and you know you're going to have good EVERY time.

Re: Help.........

I've never eaten there but I haven't read many (if any) good reviews about Nine Dragons.

What type of restaurant are you looking for? Flying Fish is excellent if you want a nice dinner.

Re: Help.........

we LOVE the San Angel and the ride being right there gives you a "reason to sit still at dinner"... the food CAN be spicy if you request it that way- Or they can tone it down. It's awesome IMO

Re: Help.........

We were thinking the California Grill as well. We are so undecided. You should see the list of restaurants we have eaten at. I would like to add to it and that is why I would like to try something different. I guess it does not have to be dinner either. Breakfast would work on the right day.

Re: Help.........

Boma is a good place to go even with picky eaters. My DD and I enjoyed and we are pretty picky. I wouldn't waste your money on 9 dragons...I have yet to hear anything good about that place. What about Lecellier, spoodles, rose and crown, o'hanna, whispering canyon or the coral reef?

Re: Help.........

We loved O'Hana........ Will Boma serve the famous "PB&J" if the kids can not find something that they like. I am pretty sure O'hana's did as well.

Any WDW restaurant is pretty cool about hooking the kiddos up when they can't find something that they like. The Mara, AKL's fast food place, is not to far from Boma, so they shouldn't have a problem getting you a PB&J

Do your kids like mac and cheese? I think they had chicken fingers and other things, too. But, like Dana said I am sure they will set them up if needed.

The earliest that Boma had was 9:15. My kids would be asleep in their PB and J....

Re: Help.........

We had an opportunity to try a couple of new restaurants on our recent trip. Flying Fish and Artist's Point - and there were kids at both of them - but I wouldn't consider either of them too much fun for kids. Food-wise they were excellent. We also returned to San Angel Inn and were very disappointed - the food here has gone down hill since the DP - (and the boat ride is down for refurbishment). Germany has a very good buffet and kids were dancing up a storm during the entertainment.

Coral Reef was excellent and watching the fish in the acquarium is always neat.

If you're into the "interaction" thing, why not give Prime Time Cafe a try - kids think it's hysterical to see their parents getting bawled out for not eating their beans - and the food is pretty good "comfort" food.

For just plain really good food, you can't beat LeCellier.

Re: Help.........

I am still working hard here on getting some ADR's. It seems that the problem is that we are a table of 5 which no one has availabilty. I have tried Boma, CAli Grill, Le Cellier, Crystal Palace for breakfast. I may try O'Hana's for dinner. We have not been there since they changed the menu and the bread pudding sounds tempting.

In the mean time I am going to keep on dialing.

Hmmmmmm, If only I could pick up a 6th person... It is a shame I am leaving DH at home.
