Re: where to eat to see fireworks

You can see the fireworks pretty good from either O'hanna (depending on where you sit) at the Polynesian or the California Grill at the Contemporary. Honestly, I suggest having dinner at O'hanna for a normal dining time and then going out to their beach area and watching the fireworks from there. They have beach chairs and such and it's a guaranteed view. You have no idea where you will be sitting at O'hanna or whether or not you will even be able to see it well, so I would eat before or after the fireworks. There is also the water pagent that goes on the 7 seas lagoon. It will be around 9pm from the Polynesian's beach. Depending on the schedule for Wishes that night, if you time it right you can eat, watch wishes and then hang out for the light pagent....make a while night out of it.

You can see it from any of the magic kingdom resorts. It's starts at the polynesian at around 9pm. From there it goes to the GF, WL,FW and then to the contemporary. Check with the resort you intend to view it from the day you intend to watch it for the exact time they expect it that day. It could vary.

Re: where to eat to see fireworks

I probably had an excellent seat in Ohana during Caveyfest even though we were not close to the windows. The castle was right in front of me, but even though they played the music inside, I just had to go out to Sunset Point and watch from there. The deck around Narcoossee's at Grand Floridian should give a good view, even if it's off to the side a little and some of the forest might be in the way. I've watched HalloWishes and the older Fantasy in the Sky Halloween show from the California Grill and Wishes from our room's balcony on the twelfth floor. You can also easily see the Water Pagent, but you won't really hear the music from the barges.

California Grill is an ecxellent spot to watch Wishes from. If you want to see the water pagent I'd suggest eating at Ohana's since ater you're done eating you can go sit on the beach watch the fireworks and then watch the water pagent.

Re: where to eat to see fireworks

Well I'm hoping for a great view when we are eating at Narcossee's this Valentines Day. I made the ADR for a romantic dinner (even though we have the kids) and a few days later is DW 40th !

Re: Water Pageant....

Can you see it from Ohana? We're planning to go the night we arrive, and may not be finished eating before it starts. So, how is the view from Ohana (assuming you can get a window view)? Should we race down to the beach in the middle of the meal to see it, then run back up to finish eating?

Re: where to eat to see fireworks

We ate at the California Grill. When the fireworks were to start, our Waiter directed us tot he rear observation deck. After the MK show, we turned around ant there was the water pageant. It was a cool two-fer. There was only one other family out there with us.

The south observation deck? That is the one closer to the TTC. Few people ever go out there, and it might give a better viewing angle than the popular north observation deck. I don't know if they pipe music out on the south side too, or only the north, and even then, they don't always play the music inside or outside. You can also see Illuminations from here, but it's not that good a view.
