Using my DDP

I just added the DDP to our package and I like the way it is working out. I am using the sit down meals to cover the more expensive places and filling other spaces in with the counter service and snacks. Here's what I have so far:

4 nights at the Poly
Check in day at Poly- snack at Poly morn. (DDP), around 12:00 counter serv. at Columbia Harbor House (DDP), counter service at the Tommorowland Terrace Noodle station during the Haloween party (DDP)

Day 2- breakfast at Donald's Breakfastsaurus around 9:00am (not on DDP), counter service at AK around 1:00pm (DDP), Ohana (DDP) around 6:00pm

Day 3- Cindy's around 8:30am (not DDP), Epcot- snack around 11:00am (DDP), San Angel Inn around 3:00pm (DDP), snack around 6:00pm (DDP), then Illum. Cruise

Day 4- breakfast at Chef Mickey's around 9:00am (not DDP), MGM- snack or counter service around 1:00pm (DDP), Fantasmic package at Mama Melrose (DDP)

Day 5- breakfast at Crystal Palace around 9:00am (DDP), snack or counter service around 1:00 (DDP), WhoopDeeDo at 5:00pm

Does this seem pretty well balanced? I am paying for the most of the character breakfasts because they are around $20.00 per person and of course the WhoopDeeDo takes 2 Sit down meal credits so I am paying for that. No worries about the San Angel Inn, Ohannas, or the Fantasmic Package and it will be nice to have the Columbia Harbor House paid for in advance. I will miss the DDE card I had in 2005 but you can't get it without APs

Any comments on my thinking would be appreciated! thanks

I like your choices, but I am not familiar with how the dining plan works, hopefully someone who has used it will let you know if you are making the most of it!

We are checking into the Poly on 10/31/07, we are staying 3 nights at the Nick Hotel before checking in at the Poly. Thanks!

We were in on the free dining plan last September and loved it. I would have never done it if it wasn't free. From now on though we will be getting it whether it is free or not.

Of course it would be nice if it was free but I still believe it is a pretty good deal. I really loved the DDE cards we had in '05. Yor really knew you were saving money, but I think this dinning plan will help control costs!

Even if you pay for the DP, it is SO worth it! You have great choices and are working it out just fine.

It sounds good to me. Personally, I agree with the idea of paying for the character meals instead of using 2 table service credits. At a restaurant in epcot you could easily buy $30-40 wirth of food for that credit vs. $20 for the cost of a character meal.

You will be stuffed on the dining plan! There is so much food. By the time you eat an appetizer and two desserts per day- you do not even need the snack (unless it is hot- then you could use the drinks)... You will be stuffed. We were almost sick from being so stuffed from all of the food!!!! We were so sick that we ordered it DP again for this spring!

just found this & am so excited about all the snacks that included! Plus, we are going during food & wine fest - and last year, most of the food there counted as a snack (even more choices)! Yeah! Just wanted to be sure you all saw this too - sorry if you all had seen it before!
