You are at least the second one who mentioned seafood. Is this menu not current? Sci-Fi Dine In Dinner Menu - Disney-MGM Studios

Other than the tuna and shrimp pasta I don't see any seafood on the menu. Many WDW restaurants offer a version of seafood pasta and I'm not a tuna fan. I was actually leaning toward the shrimp pasta (I'm sure DH will get the ribs)...are there more seafood choices on the current menu?? That would make it even better!

(Obviously, I'm leaning toward Sci-Fi at the moment...)

Re: 50s Prime Time or Sci Fi???

I picked Prime Time because although we haven't eaten there- we did eat at Sci-Fi and I'm glad we did- the food was good- (late lunch) but the darkness and the movies weren't up my alley. If you like that sort of thing- I think it's neat- but I am guessing that if you don't... then I'd go to Prime Time first- then Sci-Fi for the experience. Just m opinion....

Re: 50s Prime Time or Sci Fi???

I picked Prime Time. Just because I thought their food was better. I loved the ambience of Sci-Fi though!! Maybe we didn't enjoy the setting of Prime time as much because our waiter wasn't so "into" his "role"...

Re: 50s Prime Time or Sci Fi???

I chose Prime Time. We ate there once and the food was good. Our waitress was just Average on the entertaining side. The waiter at the next table over was great, though. I wonder...can you request an "outgoing" server? We have kids, and they like that kind of attention.

Re: 50s Prime Time or Sci Fi???

I chose Sci Fi, my kids are asking to go back again. We haven't tried Prime Time because even though the atmosphere sounds interesting and amusing for me, my DH or kids would not find it so amusing. They don't take kindly to that kind of kidding around so I just didn't think it would be fun for them.

Re: 50s Prime Time or Sci Fi???

Sci-Fi was different. The food was good, DESSERTS are to die for. After a while the movies got played out, ands it was difficult to try to keep the kids "with there extra low restaurant voices" so the other diners can watch the movies. I'm going this Feb. to PT and am looking forward to "Mom" telling the kids to finish there dinner. In a nut shell, with younger kids Prime Time, but you should try Sci-Fi.

Prime Time. Food is better.

But SciFi is fun also.

Do both!

Re: 50s Prime Time or Sci Fi???

I voted for Sci-Fi

First I will tell why I didnt pick 50's Prime Time
#1 - the theme does not appeal to me
#2 - who cares about comfort food, your at a theme park, too much food gives and rides gives you a gut ache!

I picked Sci-Fi because
#1- we tried it on our last trip and really liked it
#2- we liked the theme
#3- everything I had to eat was good!!!!
#4 - it was cool watching those old flicks in the "Cars" you really felt like you were at a drive-in!

The only thing I didnt like was that it was dark, and hard to see your food! By the time I got to the bottom of my plate I found a french fry and french fries did not come with my order!
and if you have a large party, the cars may be awkward, you fit 2 comfortably next to each other and the rest of the group would have to sit behind you, in 2's. I know they have other seating there too in case you dont want a car but I requested the car!

And dont knock it unless you tried it!!!
It always fun to try different things and I was soo happy that we went and I liked it because Ive been meaning to try Sci-Fi out!!!

Re: 50s Prime Time or Sci Fi???

Are you going with kids? My kids liked the Sci-Fi much more, they thought it was really cool. The prime time has big time comfort foods like meat loaf and pot roast which were good, but since we usually go in the heat of August we didn't really feel like such a heavy meal.

Re: 50s Prime Time or Sci Fi???

I chose Prime Time. We ate at Sci-Fi a few years ago and I personally didn't care for the food (I had a chicken sandwich that was a bit "rubbery" and DH said his burger was just "ok"). The atmosphere was cool, but once was enough for us - at least we could say that we tried it.

Prime Time, on the other hand, is one of our favorites! We usually eat there every trip. Love the food (pot roast & Dh loves the meatloaf) and the servers are a hoot (if you're into a lot of interaction). If you go, request Aunt Brenda if she is working. We've had her the past 3 years (by request) and she is awesome!

I really enjoyed the atmosphere at the Sci-Fi. The food was just ok, but the environment more than made up for it. Super fun!
