Chef Mickey's Mac and Cheese

For Easter, I decided to make homemade mac and cheese. I have never done this before, since I am a huge fan of Kraft.

Well! It was so easy! The best part? My son loved it...and ate it all! Hopefully my Easter guests will feel the same tomorrow!

Here it is:

************************************
Chef Mickey's Macaroni and Cheese

1 tbsp butter
1 tbsp flour
1/2 c milk
1/2 c heavy cream
1 c coarsely grated cheddar cheese
1/2 tsp Worchestershire sauce
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 lb elbow macaroni

In a 2 qt saucepan, heat the butter over medium heat. Add the flour and cook, stirring, for 2 minutes.

Remove the pan from heat and slowly add milk and heavy cream, stirring constantly, until well combined. Return the saucepan to the heat and cook, stirring, until sauce is thickened (about 5 minutes). Remove the suacepan from the heat and add cheese, stirring until smooth.

Stir in Worchestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Add the cooked and drained macaroni and stir until blended. Serve immediately.

**********************************

I made a full box of elbow noodles (1 lb) so I doubled everything. And, instead of using all cheddar, I used 1/2 mild cheddar and 1/2 mozarella for a milder flavor.

Enjoy!
