For a character meal, my answer is always Chef Mickey's! I'm taking my 7 yr old next month for his 8th bday. (My sisters fiance will be with us also celebrating his bday there too!) And I'm taking myself for my 18th...opps I mean 28th bday in August!!

Let us know what you are planning, and that might help us. Is it adults only? A big group or just the family?

It is just my sister and I. (Party of 2 adults) I would really like one with Mickey (my sister's favorite) and either Eeoyre or Pluto.

Hmm.. Crystal Palace has the Pooh gang and it was wonderful for lunch. Chef Mickey's would have the other two. How about chose one for your bday and the other for another day of your trip! After it is your special time so splurge and live a little. Don't forget to get your It's My Birthday button at MK!!!

My family is going to Chef Mickey's twice on our trip in July, once for breakfast and once for dinner. I have always wanted to take my DS and now it is almost here. However, after watching my DS freak out at a St. Louis baseball game a few days ago when Fred Bird came by I think he is going to enjoy the characters from a far. I so wanted him to enjoy the characters, but I will not be one of those parents who drags the kid up screaming in fear.

I caught myself doing this one time, :madmad on our first trip, and had to stop myself. I posted in another thread that what brought my son around was Chip playing w/me and messing w/my hair. After that, he was more comfortable around the characters!

I hope my son comes around during our trip. We are going to Chef Mickey's our first night, I am not expecting him to warm up that night but we are still going, he will still have fun watching everyone else.

He REALLY wants to meet Buzz and Woody, I hope we find them and this helps him warm up to others. He has never been scared of sitting on Santa's lap but the Easter bunny and Fred Bird (St. Louis ball game) really shook him up. I think since he can see Santa's face helps him to not fear him. I hope this helps with Buzz and Woody.

While I agree that Chef Mickey's is a great place to eat and meet the characters, I bleive the Garden Grille cannot be beat for character interaction. Both times we have been there (our last time in the resturaunt was in January) the characters there spent a great deal of time hamming it up for my children. I t was a hoot!
