Time to make the PS's!!!!!!!!!!!

OK my 120 day PS days are approaching rapidly!!!!!!!!!!!! I will be making my DW and DS's crazy the next few days with those tough questions, like:

OK where do we want to eat the first night? Where do we want to eat breakfast on the first full day? What resort do we want to explore? Then we can make a PS at that resturant!!!!!!!!!!!!! On the thris day where do you want to eat? When should we gpo to Cape May for teh clam bake buffet? YAY!!! Yes I'm crazy and my wife and MY boss tell me all the time! But now I have a question for all you good people out there in DC! (Well actually it was my wifes idea!)

She want's to eat at Ohana's the first night and try to cath the fireworks while we are eatting. What is a good time to make the PS for so we can catch the fireworks? We are going in August so I'm sure the fireworks will be every night then.

Last year we ate at Ohana and watched the fw's from the beach. We had ps's at 7pm. We were finished eating at a little after 8pm. The fw's started at 9pm. We then walked to the Poly beach and found us some lounge chairs. The kids made sandcastles while we watcherd the sunset and the castle change colors. WOW!!! We have great photos of that!!!
I realize you want to see the fw's from the resteraunt, but this is a great alternative.

I found the beach view very peaceful, quiet and romantic.

Also, after the fw's you get a front row seat to the water parade which begins at the Poly dock. It's an extra bonus you don't get if you see the fw's from the park.

I have always had 7pm PS out by about 8:15 and watched the fireworks from the beach. With that you could plan on 7:30 or 7:45 and be about done with that yummy pineapple and carmel and enjoy the view.

Oh glory you guys - that is a fantastic idea - I was going to do what Matt is trying to plan, but I like your idea better.

Matt, we had ressie an hour and a half before fireworks time last December, and it worked out great. We were way over to the far wall of the restaurant, to (party of 25) and still were able to see and hear the fireworks.

Do they pipe the MK music onto the beach? Wouldn't surprise me, but I'd love to know.

Matto, I agree with the others about getting an earlier PS and viewing the fireworks from the beach! If you get stuck in a table away from the windows you would have to get up to see the fireworks. Sometimes if it is really hot and humid outside the windows get a lot of condensation and it makes it difficult to get a clear view.

No music but if you're watching from the beach it is really special. Another option, pack swim suits for the kids in your bag and let them swim while you relax in a chair. There is a pool side bar available but not sure what time it closes. There is a restroom with a shower under the volcano pool, right behind the water fall. The zero entry pool is perfect, you can sit in the water and watch the fireworks. Plus the volcano slide is is illuminated inside the tunnel at night... very cool!
Matto, good luck getting all the PS's you want! Happy planning!!

Like dab said, no music, but you can hear the music from the water parade. If you've never seen it up close, they play a lot of patriotic music. I have seen the parade from the monorail, but of course you could not hear it.

Yeah I spoke to the DW and we're gonna do the dinner and then hit the beach with the DS's to cath the FW's and the water parade! That would be a real coup!:) :)

Hey Matto!
We were in Pa. for the Easter holiday and I had to make my PS from my parents house. My family thought I was nuts!:D It was just sooo exciting!

Btw, I did use the 800# on the back of my Disney Club Card. I had no problems. It prompts you to make PS.

Good luck, Matt! I'm making our PS's in the morning after I try for CRT. We were only going to do CP and Ohana's, now DH has demanded CRT (like I'm not good enough, he needs his princesses, ha!)

Dang it forgot the rest... duh. Thanks for the tips on swimming and stuff - I didn't think anyone could swim in the lake, not that that would stop my daughter, mind you...

OK so far I've PSed Ohana's for dinner out 1st night there so we can see the FW's from the beach.
PSed Cape May for the clam bake for our Sunday night dinner after I do my Dive at the Living Seas.
Tomorrow morning I will be PSing Donalds Breakfastosaurus for the AK, hopefully the E-day will still be Monday for that one!

OH I'm getting into the DISNEY GROOVE! Or as Billy Joel might sing:

I'm in a Disney World state of mind..............
:) :)

Fun! Fun! Fun! Making PS is so exciting. I had a little PS withdrawl after making them for 5 days in a row last week. I will gear up in June to make CRT and Crystal Palace. Time flies when you're having fun!!

Great, Matt, now I'm gonna be butchering Billy Joel tunes all day. Although I did come up with a Poly room request to the tune of "kali malikimaka"... LOL!

We got our Cindy's breakfast, and our Rose and Crown seating, and also are using your suggestion for Ohana's. I'm waiting on a client to pay up on their bill and then I'll add Crystal Palace, Jiko's and Boma's. I'd like to do a night alone - the kids really want to go to Simba's Cubhouse, which would be nice. I love being able to plan - reminds me of that song "...a dream is a wish your heart makes..."
