Question about Free Dining Plan IF it happens

I am booked for Aug 30th arrival. I booked the DP hoping for free dining (please oh please!). We are staying for 4 nights, so we get 4 snacks, 4 CS, and 4 TS meals.

Two questions: If free dining happens, are credits still tallied and kept? Or is any restaurant meal free with your room key? In other words, does a meal at Artist Point, as a Signature Restaurant, "cost" as 2 TS and leave us each with 2? Or is it just "free"?

If credits are still tallied during free dining, can my husband and I have dinner without the kids and leave their credits unused? Or will they remove a TS for each member of our party even if they didn't eat with us? I remember WooHoo had a problem with the DP and I felt so sorry for her!

Thanks a million!

Re: Question about Free Dining Plan IF it happens

Free dining would operate roughly the same as if you had paid for it. But I don't know if there are greater restrictions on it (like Signature Rest. not being included)

That was fast! I figured it would be the same, but the details get confusing!

I believe the free dining works just like if you purchased the regular dining package. Spirit of Aloha will always be two TS.

Free dining does work like the dining plan. TS, CS, & Snacks. Remember to make your ADR's

Re: Question about Free Dining Plan IF it happens

I have done free dining the last two years, and will be going again this year. It works exactly as if you had paid for it, no difference, no restrictions. No one even knows if you paid for it or got it free, that information is not passed onto the hotel.

Thanks all for the info. I've got my ADRs (all dinners) for Le Cellier, Chef Mickey's, Mama Melrose, and Liberty Tree (my son loves their pot roast) character dinner.

I left Boma and Artist Point off the list since we only had four nights and we thought we should expand our horizons... (we have also eaten at both Boma and Artist Point twice in the past 2 months ).
