Anniversary

It will my DH and my anniversary when we are in Disney. I have heard of people ordering cakes and having them presented at restaurants around Disney. Can someone fill me in a little abut how this is done. I would love to surprise my DH (a HUGE cake fan) and my DD would get a kick out of this as well. Thanks!

Re: Anniversary

The last time I was in Disney I recall a birthday cake being delivered while we were dining at 1900 Park Fare. The cake was absolutely beautiful; Ariel themed. I asked one of the CMs about it and she said you could have this ordered by calling 1-800-WDW-DINE or you could order it while on property. She did mention that the cakes can get quite pricey. If I remember correctly she said that you should have the cake ordered at least 48 hours in advance.

Good Luck

Re: Anniversary

I just saw on Allears.net that you can also order cakes from your lobby concierge or resort room service. Another option is contacting the location directly (i.e., Chef Mickey) and letting them know what you'd like to do.

Now you've got me contemplating ordering a cake for my daughter and brother's birthdays while we're there in August.

Re: Anniversary

Thanks! I say go for the cake. I am not much of a cake eater myself, but I know my DH & DD will LOVE it!

You can just order it with your ADR now.

I think you can call your resort and they will take care of that for you. That would be my approach. If they aren't doing it for you, they can at least give you a phone number or two to their bakery.

Re: Anniversary

when I made my ADR's last week, the CM told me I could call an 800 # (can't remember what it is now, of course) to order a cake, 48 hours in advance. (I had told her it was DD"s birthdays) I don't think you can order it when you make ADR's with that same phone #/CM that you are making ADR's with.

or did I misunderstand you tonksyl? I haven't had coffee yet - lol - I'm easily confused anyway & lack of caffeinne intensifies it!

I will. I am glad you posted this, because I am not sure I would have even thought of taking a picture. It would have been one of those things I would have thought of after the cake was eaten!!

Re: Anniversary

Okay, I decided to start with the resort directly. I have to say the CM at the resort, not friendly. This makes me a little nervous, but that is for another thread!
Anyway she ended up tranferring me to dining. It was the very same number that you call for ADR's. They then gave me the phone number of (407) 824-7091. This turns out to be the "Special Occasion Cake Order Hotline". They are open Mon-Fri. 8am-4pm (closed on federal holidays). The message states that there is a 48 hr. min. advanced order time, but they do also state that if you do not call ahead you can notify the podium hostess upon arrival and they can accomodate you with a 6" cake. I had to leave my name and phone # on the answering machine and they claim they will get back to me. I don't know if they are open today or if this is considered a federal holiday, but I will give them a little time and call back sometime tomorrow if I do not hear back.
