San Angel Inn

My DH LOVES Mexican food and I don't, however, if you all say that San Angel Inn is a restaurant not to miss, I'll go and watch him eat....or beg them to make me something that I can eat...like a burger :)

Your comments please.....

Thanks and Happy Easter!!!!

Re: San Angel Inn

The inn is nice, but I actually prefer to eat at the cantina outside of the pyramid. The food is very good, but what really makes it for us is sitting and watching the fireworks show while we have dinner. I do not know what you would eat though.

Re: San Angel Inn

The atmosphere inside the pyramid is very nice. However, I agree that it would be more fun to eat at the cantina outside. The beauty of the situation for you is that you could bring along what you want to eat and he can have the Mexican food that he craves.

They have burgers! And a few other things that aren't typically mexican.

Re: San Angel Inn

I love this restaurant. The atmosphere is totally what makes it. The food is very good but that's not really why we always go there. One tip, it's fairly dark in there so be sure to take a little pin light or something so you can read the menu.

Re: San Angel Inn

Because of the wonderful atmosphere inside, we have often ate at San Angel Inn. Our January experience this year was not pleasant. Since the Dining Plan came into effect they have changed their menu - not for the better. I had beef tenderloin tips and they were not good at all - tasted stale, with a "freezer burn" taste. My dh's meal was not much better. We were very disappointed. The flan was very bland. The food is more "authentic Mexican" than "tex-mex". I don't think we'd eat there again.

The cantina's food is much better.

Re: San Angel Inn

You know I keep hearing about food quality going down since Disney went to the dining plan. I sure hope Disney ahs not shot itself in the foot with this one. I am not a big food person, but I have always enjoyed my meals at WDW. I will be interested in seeing what folks feel as time goes on.

Re: San Angel Inn

I agree. The food is good. Not great (and this is coming from a lover of Mexican food). The ambiance can not be beat though. I love dinning there just for the atmosphere alone.

Re: San Angel Inn

The food at San Angel stinks! I know I've said it before - but we left without eating it and ordered pizza at our hotel. It was THAT bad.

Re: San Angel Inn

I LOVE San Angel Inn! The atmosphere of the restaurant is not to be missed. We always thought our food was delicious, and the margaritas were GREAT! We haven't been there in a couple of trips, but we are going in August.

That's what I want to hear, I love margaritas! We are trying San Angel this summer for the first time and I can't wait. The menu looks different form our local Mexican restaurants so I'm excited.

Re: San Angel Inn

The only restaurant where I've experienced a decrease in food quality since is Crystal Palace. It used to be AMAZING and a must do for all of our visits. It now reminds me of any buffet I can get here in Missouri. I haven't been back there since 98 or 99.

Re: San Angel Inn

You can see the entire restaurant and have the same ambience just by going inside the pavilion and shopping!

The better food is outside at the counter service area... and don't forget to go across the walkway and get a margarita!!!

Re: San Angel Inn

We've enjoyed many meals here, but it has been bumped by Marakesh (too lazy to spell check) as our favorite. It is not your typical Americanized Mexican food, if there is such a term.
