I'm not going during the free dining period but I had a special pin code attached to my household and i got an awesome room rate and bought the dining plan.

When I booked using the pin code, I figured out that I got 40% off the room rate so there was no way that the free dining could beat it...even if I was going at that time. For 10 days at the Poly (Garden View), MYW Park Hopper Passes and dining plan for 2 adults and 1 child my total is $3500. Considering the Poly is $350+taxes/night, I think I'm getting an awesome deal.

Wow! That's awesome!! We're planning to stay at CBR but I'd rather stay at WL if we could swing it. How does one get assigned this pin code? Sounds like I need it! Then I could book WL instead! :)

That is awesome for you! It must be a special discount, because I was told by at least 4 CMs that to get the free dining, I had to pay rack rate for the room.

Are you saying that free dining couldn't beat your room discount so you used the discount and didn't choose free dining? As you see, I am easily confused!

What is this "pin code attached to our household" I keep hearing about? I guess I need to look at the cost of an AP but I thought that it was only worth it if you use it for 10 days throughout the year and we'll only use it for 7 (I'll hopefully be pregnant this time next year so we won't be going then). DH didn't renew our AAA. Hmm, I may need to ask him about that. :)

There are good room discounts if you have an AP, so sometimes it's worth it for one person to have an AP, even if you won't be visiting parks for 9 or 10 days.

I had never received a postcard or email from Disney w/this pincode on it. It was pure luck. I called one Friday morning to get rates and the CM told me that I had a pincode attached to my name and it was good for the dates that I was going to book. I was more than thrilled....and just about fell over w/pure Disney excitement when she gave me the price.

I have been to Disney over twenty times so I don't know if that had anything to do w/it or what. We were just there last October for 10 days so it's nice like they gave it to me because I hadn't been there in forever. I don't care why I got it...just so happy that I did!!!

We fly in on the 27th so I wouldn't have been eligible for the free dining anyway, however, if I had, I don't believe paying the full price for the room minus the dining would have beaten the price I got with the pincode.
