looking for recommendations

Hi,
We went to disney last year. We ate at some nicer resurants because we went with DH. This year its just me and the kids (7,5,3). Any recommendations? We are using the dining plan. My oldest is 7 going on 28! She hated the princess breaksfast, she told my 5 year old they were only playing dress up! She did like chef mickeys.
I want this to be a fun trip.....This will be our first vaction with dh.
I'm not big into buffets. I like to have left overs. My kids tend to have 2 bites and then they are straving again!
We are going for 7 days and we will probably spend 1 day at AK, 2 at epcot, 2 at MGM and 2 at MK.

My favorite place to eat is O'hana ay the Poly. It isn't quite like a buffet, more like family style. I think you can order off the menu for the kids. The had coconut races and a Hula Hoop contest during our meal for teh kids with was fun.
Another favorite and fun place is Whispering Canyon at the WL. Lots of loud fun for everyone. Your 28 er 7 year old may appreciate both. Good Luck!

We really like 'Ohana, Chef Mickey's, Sci Fi, 50's PrimeTime, and Hoop Dee Doo. All are fun places for kids to eat.

I just asked about O'hanas. We didnt go the last year, but i think we'll check it out this time.

At MGM, I am confident they will get a kick out of the Sci-Fi Drive In. Very unusual! And for leftovers, try Mama Melrose's... the portions are gi-normous!

At MK, try Cosmic Ray's... it's counter-service, bbut there is entertainment there.

At AK, Breakfastosaurus is so fun! And for leftovers, try Tusker House.

At EC, my kids are always so happy at Cantina. For leftovers, try the counter service area of the Land Pavilion! Lots of big choices!

Quick question--What do you do with your left overs? How do you keep them cold and reheat them?

My children are 13 and 6 and here are their favorites:

MK / Crystal Palace (Pooh and Friends)

EPCOT / USA Pavillion

MGM / Sci Fi

AK / Restaurantausaurus

They also love Chef Mickey, 1900 Park Fare, Rainforest Cafe.

Good question! Keeping them cold in the fridge in the room, but how DO you reheat????

That's fine of you are going right back to your room but what if you don't and plan to stay in the parks?

We never have leftovers!!!

I rarely run into that situation. We eat everything!!

I'm sad to say that my family doesn't have much left over food either. What is left wouldn't be very good reheated or cold later so we leave it. My son never finishes his meal but he wouldn't eat it later reheated, fries have a short life.

I save them for a few hours! I usually get a bag and tie it to the stroller. I only carry it for a few hours, so when i hear "i'm hungry" i them then their food. They usually eat 2 fries and they are fine.

Good non-breakfast meals for kids those ages:
MK - Liberty Tree, Tony's Town Square
Epcot - Coral Reef (They will love the aquarium), Le Cellier
AK - Rainforest Cafe, Pizzafari
MGM - 50's Prime Time, Sci-Fi

Also try the Trails End breakfast buffet at Fort Wilderness. It's next the the Hoop de Doo. Ohana's is good.

Cosmic Ray's or Casey's at MK

are all good counterservice choices.

For dinners, I second what others have said

Ohana
Whispering Canyon (May be too silly for Miss 27

)
Coral Reef
Liberty Tree Tavern
Rainforest Cafe (not on the DP - but kids love it)

For just plain terrific food - LeCellier.
