? about gastric bypass visitors

I know this was asked before but I totally forget the outcome. My mom had the surgery and has a special card. The doc saod that since she doesnt eat all the time or large portions that she may be able to eat off the kids menu. We didnt add my mom to the DDP for this reason. I was wondering what I need to do to let them know that she had the surgery and if it will matter. CAn she eat off kids menu or will she have to pay adult prices?

For a long time I was a vegetarian and at the time 50's Prime Time didn't have anything vegetarian specific. So I would always order the grilled cheese off the kids menu. And I paid the kids menu price, as well at the counter service the same thing would apply. If they say no and question, explain the issue and they will be very understanding.

Sounds like a plan! THanks.... She said that she has a special card that states gastic bypass.. So I guess we will see... Im trying to get ahold of Disney Dine to ask and right now they have high call so go figure... FREE DINING

Not a legal expert, but I believe the ADA requires reasonable accomodation for disabilities both with employers and commercial establishments.

I have been calling ever so often tonight and they said that its up to the ARD discresion. We will see. I hope that they let it go but ya never know.

Interesting question, we leave in two weeks and are bringing my motehr as well. She too had the surgery and is unable to eat so much. Post what you get for an answer, I am very interested!

Just a question: Is WDW allowing you to exclude your mom from the DDP (the DDP requires that all persons on the package participate in the dining plan)? And your question is: can you add her back to the plan but at the child's price for children's menu items?

I have read on another board about folks with the gastric bypass card not having difficulty ordering. Sometimes they were asked for it, sometimes they were not. I don't recall anyone being denied with the card.

That arent calling me back. When I asked 3 diff CM they seemed not to know or care. then I got another and he said all up to the rest's decresion so who knows. If your mom can get a card from her doc that would be your best bet

I dodnt add my mom to the package. We just bought her a ticket from the disney store. They wouldnt let me not add her to the plan so I figured that she wont use the ddp so I got her a ticket elsewhere
