Turkey leg

These smell so darn good, I am determined on my next trip to try them!!! What I need to know is, is a leg considered CS? If so, is it best to pay OOP since it's such a small $$ instead of using a CS credit?? They're $5.49 according to allears. I figured I'll just get one and split it with DH just to try. I've been to WDW 10 times in my young 25 years and I've NEVER tried one because I'm always so full from other wonderful food!

Re: Turkey leg

Oh, and, I should add that allears lists Toluca Legs as both QS and CS.

Re: Turkey leg

I do know that it's not considered a snack on the DDP. I would just pay out of pocket for one. I ate one.....once...I got turkey over-dose and now can't stand the smell of them

Re: Turkey leg

They are delicious...though they taste more like ham than turkey if you ask me.

And if what I heard through the Disney grapevine is correct, they are not actually turkey. (I mean who has seen turkeys with legs that size?? ) But I promise they are nothing gross...they are bird, just not the bird they claim to be.

Okay sorry I shouldn't have even brought that up! LOL allow me to reiterate that they are delicious and you should definitely pay OOP to get one!

Re: Turkey leg

I'm not a meat person anyway so I don't really care WHAT it is as long as it tastes good! They sure do smell good! I much prefer ham to turkey anyday anyway! Smoked meat smells the best to me.

Re: Turkey leg

yuck!
Dave ate one once and I had a bite and it tasted like ham--but I think it's a WDW right of passage really..you have to have one at LEAST once!

(And I'd probably just pay out of pocket.)

Re: Turkey leg

They taste GREAT!!! I love them. I think about them! I have one as often as I can whenever I am at WDW! You can get them several places -- including Toluca in MGM, The Lunching Pad at Tomorrowland, and at the Turkey Leg cart in Frontierland.
I know in my heart that they all come from the same place (I even saw the whole TV special on WDW turkey legs on the Travel Channel! More on that later...) But I believe I like the legs from the Frontierland cart the best!!!

OK, so about that TV special -- it showed how they make the turkey legs so darn good. First, they start with really huge legs and they inject salt water before the smoking process. Then they smoke them and send them around to all the restaurants. So they are salty... be prepared to order a soda along with your leg!

Just typing this is making me CRAZY right now! I would love to have one in my hand at this exact moment!

The Dole Whips are exceptional! I like the kind with a layer of vanilla ice cream in the middle!
