We chickened out! Cancelled Boma!

Well, after much debate and deliberation we chickened out of Boma. So today I cancelled it and replaced it with Planet Hollywood. Maybe one day we will brave enough but not this time. So I've had to make some adjustments to our plan. What do you think of this?

Thurs. 5/24: Check-In, MK evening probably, NO ADR

Fri. 5/25: AM:AK - Break - PM:MK (ADR LTT 5:30 PM)

Sat. 5/26: AM: Epcot - Break - PM: MGM (ADR Story Book 9:05 AM)

Sun. 5/27: MK ALL DAY (ADR Crystal Palace 11:45 AM)

Mon. 5/28: AM:Typhool Lagoon-Break-PM:Open(ADR Planet Hollywood4:15PM)

Tues. 5/29: AM:AK - Break - PM:Open (ADR Donald's 8:20 AM)

Wed. 5/30: AM: MGM - Break - PM: Open (ADR Sci-Fi 12:10 PM)

Thurs. 5/31: AM: MK - Break - PM:Epcot (ADR Le Cellier 4:00 PM)

Fri. 6/1: OPEN (ADR 1900 Park Fare 5:00 PM) DD to BBB 2:00 PM

Sat. 6/2: Check out (ADR Chef Mickey's 8:20 AM) Hit park of DD's choice

I've left several evenings open so we can decided which park to hit that PM. At first I had planned on going back to the same park that evening but I think I'm going to leave it up to the group instead.

Re: We chickened out! Cancelled Boma!

Your plans look great, but I don't think you should cancel Boma. It has such a great atmosphere and the food is excellent. Maybe when you get there, you may change your mind. Try it, you'll like it!

Re: We chickened out! Cancelled Boma!

I'd take Boma ANYDAY over Planet Hollywood (I'd take almost anything over PH). Of course, everyone's taste is different.

My DH, DS (picky), MIL and grand-MIL went with me when I ate a Boma...and I'm also VERY picky. We ALL found something we loved!

I have two DS's 12 and 14, and they love Boma. I agree that everyone has different tastes, and mine will try anything, but they really enjoyed it. There are so many selections of so many different types of foods. Just walking in makes your mouth water, the smell of spices is so wonderful.

OH MY GOSH, that's like a sacrilege!! Trading BOMA for Planet Hollywood, aye aye aye. Maybe it's just me but I hadn't had a decent meal at Planet Hollywood since 1996. Did you look at pictures of Boma and the menu at allears.net. I know the menu can sound a little exotic but I assure you, from a person with VERY basic and finicky food preferences, Boma is WORTH IT!! What about Jiko?

I must agree -- and the noise was enough to send me to bed with a migraine (and I am NOT a person who gets headaches easily)....

Again, just my opinion!!

Re: We chickened out! Cancelled Boma!

Personally, I'm not a great fan of Boma. The staff there are wonderful and the food is ok - but I don't think I'd rave about it. Although the bread pudding was good. There's certainly a good variety of food and much of it not "exotic". But, we've given it two tries and all agreed we probably wouldn't go back. But, then again, I'm not a terrific fan of Planet Hollywood either - for the same reason - the NOISE!!! If you're in the Downton Area I'd choose Earl of Sandwich or Wolfgang Puck Express over PH. But that's just me....

TOTALLY AGREE!!!!!!!!! While I have never been to Boma (going in August for the first time!) I would NEVER EVER switch a place with such great reviews for Planet Hollywood. Although it wasn't the WORST food I've ever had, it wasn't all that GREAT either! I would eat there if I were at DTD and there was nothing else to eat. Reconsider Boma!

Re: We chickened out! Cancelled Boma!

I was not that fond of Boma.........but we were late for our reservation and had to wait a few mins. but just could not find something that we really liked, outside of the squash soup which daughter had, maybe DH and I are alot pickery eaters then we thought, or maybe everything was not as fresh. I would try it again, everyone really raves about it. The restaurant is beautiful.

Big mistake, it was one of the best meals that we had on our trip. I am so glad we decided to go there.

Re: We chickened out! Cancelled Boma!

You have to do what you think it best. If you are that afraid to try it, you made the right decision. I personally like planet hollywood. The noise is a bit much however and I am going there for an early dinner hoping to avoid mot of it.

Am I the only one who doesn't think Boma is very exotic at all? I mean, I love it, it's cool and interesting, but it's not weird or strange or anything like that.

Re: We chickened out! Cancelled Boma!

I would LOVE to try BOMA, but my extremely picky DH (he won't eat meatloaf because he can't identify things in it! And don't start me talking about sauces....) won't even think of it!

I think that someday, when I take a trip with the girls, I'll finally get there.
