ADR for 4 and only 3 show up

Just had a quick question If I have made reservation for 4 and one night one of myh guest does not make it does that affect my seating? What will they do not allow us to eat?

We have had someone in our party get sick and not be able to attend. We were seated with no problem. If you have 4 and try to add 1, that could be an issue.

If not, just say the other chair is for your imaginary friend and he only wants water.

Thank you. I figured seating for 4 and 3 would probably use the same table.

If you show up with only 3 people they have two options. One, they get you an extra diner from the single diner line. Two, they confiscate the youngest person in your party as a penalty.

We just had that happen to us last trip. We made ADR's for 3, but our DS couldn't make it due to his band's scheduling conflict....

It was no big deal and that was even at Le Cellier!

I also called guest services prior to, knowing that it was a strong possibility that it could happen, and they said it was no problem reducing the # of people, as opposed to increasing the # of people, like Cincy said.

We had to reduce by 2 people once at Chef Mickey's. I had taken my mom, Brother, Sister in law, her mother, nephew and niece. The niece (who was 5 at the time) HATED (and I can't say it strong enough -- HATED!!!!) costumed characters!!! She literally crawled up my 6'5" brothers body when Baloo came up behind her once at AK! (She did love the "face" characters, like the Princesses though), so we thought it best that she and her dad not go to CM since I didn't want a hysterical child screaming while I ate a waffle. My nephew, on the other hand, had a blast!! We just told them we had two less at the check-in station and that was all!

Nope doesn't matter. I will make an ADr for a party of three when all the tables for two are gone at a place I want.

I made all my ADRs for the 3 of us and twice Dd wanted to go to the kids club instead, so DH and I showed up just the 2 of us. It was never a problem and it didn't delay our seating at all. I do think you'd have a problem if you showed up with more people though.
