Franco's Restaurant Reviews!!
This was another trip of fabulous meals
but I think I will start out with our worst! Ruth Chris SteakHouse.. This is a high end steakhouse chain with lots of locations all over the country. The one in Boston has had nothing but praise sense its opening, but there lies the problem with chains. As with most steakhouses everything is ala cart (everything cost extra) and I have no problem with that as long as the quality is there and it was not here! Wellwe started out with thier appetizer of shrimp. It came New Orleans style in a butter/white wine sauce with ba-be-cue spices, the flavor was nice, good size, but they were over cooked and stringy. Our steaks were the New York Strip, Filet Migion, and a Ribeye. Now I have to say Helena and the boys are really old fashion when it comes to steaks and beef in general. They would cook the beef until welldone take it off the heat and cook it again But over the years I have managedto get them to enjoy a little pink in the center, while I still like mine on the redish-pink side. Well all three of thiers came way to red for them so all went back for more cooking. No apology from anyone and we are always very clear on how we would like them. All came back with much more doneness, but by then I was having no luck with mine. I was the one with the ribeye and I know there is a good amount of fat on that cut of meat, but it was way too much fat and even some grisel ,a very poor cut of meat The sides of Steak Fries, these were huge , but just a few of them and very little flavor. And our asparagus were bland and that off green color you get when you don't stop the cooking process I was not happy about this meal but the families beef turned out better than mine. As always I don't drink at all if I am driving, Helena does not drink at all so our bill never consist of big drink prices. So, IMHO the check of $235.00 was way out of whack! This restaurant gets a C- from me. Time to move on!

Re: Franco's Restaurant Reviews!!
Wow!!!! Sorry to hear you had such a bad experience Franco. My only experience with Ruth Chris is from Lafayette LA (post Katrina), and we had a great meal. We have a new in in Providence RI, which is always packed, and has gotten great reviews.

Restaurant Review No. 2
Il Mulino This is at the Swan Resort at the old location of Palio. They have done a complete overhaul and its very nicely done. According to thier press they come highly regarded thanks to thier New York location. We started off with a few appetizers, we wanted to try the Arancini (Italian rice balls) so we ordered a serving. They were very nice in appearance, lightly browned with a meat sauce in the middle, a nice change of pace. I suppose they were a way for the mamma's to use up things in the Italian kitchens. I had the oysters on the half, they were huge, cold, and brineyness I look for, a little salty taste, thier mignonette was a little tame for my taste but added a nice crunch of match tip size red onion. And even though you can get Calamari Fritti just about anywhere, they do thiers very well, golden brown a nice amount, but once again the spicy marinara sauce was a little tame. On to the Entrees. Danny boy went with the Pollo Parm igiana, it came as flat as I have seen a chicken breast with a nice tomato sauce and cheese, (one of the times he was so quiet) He consumed the whole thing, which was a very good serving. Leonardo (big dog) went with the Pollo Fra Diavolo. It came with Boneless chicken, sausage in a spicy red sauce, just like his brother he was very quiet. Helena had the Bistecca Alla Pizzaiola, this is a ribeye cut steak, which was cooked to her liking (medium well) with lots of red and green fried peppers in thier house Pizzaiola sauce. And I went with the Gamberi Francese, these were of excellent size jumbo shrimp battered very lightly with egg and served in a delicate white wine lemon sauce, it was delicious! They bring a very nice bread basket with olive bread, sour dough and we also ordered thier garlic bread, it came maybe 11/2 inches wide and 6 inches long, spicey and buttery. Yum! We shared two orders of Tiramisu, a nicely presented good portion of this star of Italian desserts, it was excellent with a good cup of coffee. Prices are comparable to any of the Disney resort restaurants, portions are a plus, service was good with a nice set of servers, I had them make me a big doggy bag of the bread for my night time snack. A very, very nice meal! I give them a solid B+

Re: Franco's Restaurant Reviews!!
Awesome reviews! I can't believe you had such a terrible experience with Ruths Chris. There is one around here that gets pretty good reviews...although I haven't gone yet.
Il Mulino sounds GREAT! I've been to the one in NYC a couple of times years ago and I remember it being DELICOUS. Can't wait to hear MORE!
