Last minute ADRs
We had a couple of days where I didn't make ADRs because we really just wanted to play it by ear and see where we ended up. Today I called to try to make an ADR for one of those meals and there is nothing available!
We have ADRs for most of our dinners, but there are 2 nights without, and 1 that I wanted to change. I tried for all of those nights to get some of the restaurants that we wanted and I couldn't get anything except for late sittings (after 9:00 ) . I tried O'hana's, Crystal Palace, Tony's, and Concourse Steakhouse. Does anyone have a suggestion for a less popular restaurant, still good but maybe not as well known? Are there any restaurants that don't take ADRS which might be easier. The kids are hungry early so we usually eat around 5 or 5:30. Please help, I'm panicking a bit. I'm so glad I have ADRs for most of our nights, but I don't want to use a TS to eat at a CS just because we couldn't get a reservation. I think the last minute jitters are setting in. Anyone else get that? Kathy

Re: Last minute ADRs
oh, yeah, I get those jitters! relax! breathe! you can keep calling & even call on the day you are there to see if you can get something. I have heard marakesh didn't need adr's (not too busy), same with biergarten. how about big river brewery - it sounded kinda different & i was thinking it didn't take adr's. good luck - it'll all work out!! have fun!!

Relax...breathe! Why don't you call up and ask a Dining CM what IS available for the dates and times you are looking for? Then, you can look at a menu on All Ears!
What about The Plaza at MK? That is supposed to be a nice place that doesn't get really crowded. What about Kona Cafe? Whispering Canyon? Cape May Cafe? I also agree with emamasa...try Marrakesh! We are going there in August and have hears GREAT things about it!

Re: Last minute ADRs
Thanks Kim & emamasa! It's all figured out now.
I did just what you suggested Kim and called WDW dining, got the most helpful and friendly lady and she got me all set up. Our first night we have an ADR at The Plaza and our last night we have one at The Grand Floridian Cafe. Both ressies are for right around 5:00, which is perfect for my kids. If we get too close to 6:00 they will be too hungry and get very grumpy. I also made a reservation for Marrakesh for one of the nights. Originally we had this on our list but then changed it for Coral Reef, so I'm very happy to have a chance to get to try it. So here is what we have for our dinner ADRs: The Plaza Whispering Canyon Le Cellier Wofgang Puck Cafe Coral Reef Mama Melrose Fantasmic Package Tony's Chef Mickey (breakfast) Marrakesh Grand Floridian Dh had been saying to relax about the ADRs, we're on vacation and shouldn't worry about too much of a schedule. I would like to agree with him, because I don't love having to be somewhere at a certain time while on vacation, but I knew from this board that if we didn't have them we would be in trouble. I'm so happy, and relieved, to have an ADR for each night. If something changes and we don't want to go we can cancel, but I don't think I will. There is no way I want to cancel just to wait in line for another restaurant somewhere else. Plus, I like all of the menus at all of our restaurant choices. I'm so excited. My ADRs are made, the bags are about 2/3rds packed --we're almost ready to go. Tuesday morning will be here soon ... Kathy

Re: Last minute ADRs
2/3's packed? OM...step away from the computer and get your butt packing..lol
The places you picked will be fine. I like have one meal a day planned at least. you know you will have a nice meal every day. You can change all your park plans all you want and still make it to an ADr some where else..you aren't a slave to a schedule with one meal a day planned. Have a nice trip!
