Icon10 Where should I eat on my birthday?

Okay so we are 98% certain we will be going in January again and we will be there on my birthday!!! (JAN. 4) I want to eat somewhere nice but kid friendly keep in mind my kids will be almost 1 (birthday on Jan. 12) and 7 at that time. I want it to be somewhere I haven't tried so which one would you choose and why?

Re: Where should I eat on my birthday?

Your birthday is the same day as my DH!!

I voted for CG. DH and I have eaten there sans kids the last 2 trips, but we've seen lots of families there, and the kids all seem to be having a great time. The food is incredible, the view is beautiful, you can hear Wishes piped in through the sound system and see the fireworks from the restaurant. We are actually thinking about taking our kids to CG in another year or two--when DD2 gets a little bigger--she's a monkey!

If you haven't eaten there before, you really should go--YUMMY!

I voted for Narcoossees (sp?) Because it gets such high marks from soundgod and because that's where we'll have our anniversary dinner this November

Re: Where should I eat on my birthday?

I voted o'hanna. They make a big fuss for a birthday and it's kid friendly for sure. Fun for all....order yourself a cake and make it a celebration! There is also the option of wishes and the water pagent after dinner making it a perfect disney day and a magical birthday.

Re: Where should I eat on my birthday?

I voted for California Grill, but then I realized you had young kids, so their service may be a little slow for little ones. Spoodles is good choice, good food, good service, and family friendly.

Re: Where should I eat on my birthday?

I voted "other" 'cause I was wondering if you considered Jiko. Good food, great service, beautiful atmosphere, etc. My second choice would be Cali Grill. that was one of my DH's best birthday's ever at Cali Grill. they even brought out his cake during the fireworks!

Was there this past V-Day, the staff made the kids feel welcomed, and the food was great.

Re: Where should I eat on my birthday?

I have only been to California Grill of those choices and I wouldn't recommend it, especially for kids. I couldn't find anything that I wanted to eat. We ended up leaving and going to DTD to find food.

Re: Where should I eat on my birthday?

Thanks! My kids will not tolerate eating late so the fireworks are not a factor for CG. So with that out of the equation, would you still recommend? Also, my youngest has no patience (he is only 3 1/2 months now so maybe he'll gain some by then) but slow service would not be good.

Re: Where should I eat on my birthday?

I voted for Citricos. We ate there in October 2005 and it was wonderful, we were a big party (13 of us), with 5 children (ages being 4, 3, 3, 18mths, 18mths). The service was outstanding. They really strived to make the kids happy since we did have a later ADR (Ithink it was 8pm). The food was fantastic and they had a kids menu with chicken tenders, macaroni & cheese, macaroni w/ meat or marinara sauce. The dessert offerings were also fantastic, some of us actually ordered off the kids menu, as they had a dessert called Dalmation Biscuits, that were chocolate cream eclairs shaped into dog biscuits they were so yummy!!!

Also they have a beautiful view of the water, and the MK.

Re: Where should I eat on my birthday?

I voted "other," as I think you should consider LeCellier. We took our 3, and they really liked it as well. It's wonderful food in a fabulous atmosphere.

Re: Where should I eat on my birthday?

We really enjoyed Artist's Point. It was quiet, the atmosphere beautiful, the food was good and the service was quick and friendly (for your impatient one. )

But I'd also give the nod to LeCellier. For the best food at WDW and a staff that really enjoys and welcomes kids.
