Icon7 First Post! Sept ADR's

Hi there all! I've been lurking here for a while and finally have gotten registered so I can post!

DH and I are taking our DD's (6 & 3) on their first vacation to WDW. We'll be there from 9/5-9/12 during free dining! We're planning on staying at ASMo. My mom and stepdad are going too, but they couldn't get free dining at ASMo, so they had to book at ASMu. More on that in another thread...

Anyhoo, I went to WDW in mid school, but have really no memories of it, so it will be like the first time for all of us!!! Thank goodness for our travel agent, as she has been a great help so far.

Here's our ADR's and I would apppreciate your advice!

Date: September 5, 2007
Time: 7:50pm
Restaurant/Location: Chef Mickey’s @ The Contemporary

Date: September 6, 2007
Time: 7:50pm
Restaurant/Location: Spoodles @ the Boardwalk

Date: September 7, 2007
Time: 7:50pm
Restaurant/Location: 50’s Prime Time Café @ MGM Studio’s

Date: September 8, 2007
Time: 10:25am
Restaurant/Location: Akerhaus in Norway @EPCOT

Date: September 9, 2007
Time: 8:00pm
Restaurant/Location: Liberty Tree Tavern @ the Magic Kingdom

Date: September 10, 2007
Time: 8:50pm
Restaurant/Location: Le Cellier @ EPCOT

Date: September 11, 2007
Time: 8:00pm
Restaurant/Location: Crystal Palace @ the Magic Kingdom

P.S. We had really wanted to do 1900 Park Fare, but I guess it's being refurbished so they are doing a plated meal at GF cafe instead. I guess I am not comfortable not knowing what that mystery plated meal will be, so we're doing LTT instead.

I think your adrs look great. We are going to WDW for the first time too, around the same time as you. We are staying at Pop.
Welcome to Mousebuzz. LOL on the mystery plated meal...I'd avoid that too.

Welcome to MouseBuzz!

You choices all look great, you've picked some popular restaurants. My only concern is how late most of your ADRs are. If you didn't have little ones I wouldn't worry but the days are long and kids do get worn out. Are you late eaters at home?

Re: First Post! Sept ADR's

Thanks for all your responses! I had access to the all ears site with the menus and that's what helped me make most of our choices. One of the reasons I had given my travel agent the go ahead for awkward times is I had read somewhere that the girls will get more attention from the characters if we were at the restaurant during off peak hours. Have you all found that to be true? The other factor I considered was that we're on Mountain standard time which is 2 hours earlier, so it wouldn't be so bad.

I wonder how difficult it would be to try and change our ADR's at this point....

Re: First Post! Sept ADR's

We've been to character meals at all times and had good interaction each time no matter what time of day or how crowded the restaurant is.

Changing would be easy but don't change a thing if the times work for your family. We usually eat between 5 and 6 at home so that's when we try to eat at WDW. It's all in what you're used to.

Welcome Bella Grace!

Your ADRs look yummy and congrats on your first WDW vacation with your family.

I noticed the late times as well, but as you said you will be used to Mountain time. I would think if you made sure the kids had a nap or rest it would help out.

I think your ADRs look great. We also have young children, and our youngest (who is now 3) usually will nap in her stroller while we're at WDW. That seems to really help her make it on those long, late days.

Welcome to MB and have a wonderful trip!!

I agreed. Having a later dinner gives you plenty of time to hit the parks first thing in the morning, stay for 4 or 5 hrs, go back for a nap and still have time to see a few things before dinner.

Because of my SIL work schedule, their family normally doesn't eat dinner until 7ish almost every night. The bad thing is, when we visit we are almost asleep in our dinner.

The only reason I would try to change the times is because of the fireworks schedule. I love, love , love fireworks. When we were making ADRs, we had a choice of 4:10 or 7:30 for le cellier. We picked 4:10 just because I wanted to be sure I got to see illumanations on our last night at disney.
