Whispereing Canyon from MK
Hi, my trip is still 11 months away, but already started the planning!
I KNOW ALL OF YOU CAN UNDERSTAND THIS!:D Anyway, I'd like to try Whispering Canyon for a late lunch combined with a MK day. About how long does it take from leaving the gates, the boat ride, and getting to the restaurant? And you all really liked this restaurant, right?:) Thanks in advance! AMY

Amy I would give at least a 1/2 hr to get to the gates boat and to the WL to go to Whispering canyon cafe I usally leave MK about and hr before my PS ( i am neurotic about being early one of the traits my dad instilled in me ) if you are early you can walk around the lobby and look at the pool even see if you can do their hidden mickey tour

Thanks, Cheryl--I'm a little neurotic too when it comes to PS's that's why I asked.;)
By the way, I accidentally clicked on your name instead of this thread at the home page and I got your profile instead. Well, guess what ?! We have the same birthday a year apart!:) COOL! AMY

Amy,
On our last 2 trips, we've stayed at Wilderness Lodge Villas, so I can tell you that it will definitely take X minutes... :D The boat normally - but not always - goes straight to WL. Sometimes, though, it stops at Fort Wilderness first. That can add 10-15 minutes to the pleasant trip. I'd definitely allot an hour. Nice thing about Whispering Canyon is that it shouldn't be too busy for a late lunch, so if you're hungry and early, you should have no problem going right in. Be sure to check reviewcentral for the reviews! We enjoyed it on our last trip, but we'll probably order off the menu next time instead of getting the skillets (VERY hearty, but I thought they were only slightly above average quality). Bruce

I just wanted to add. I LOVE the Whispering Canyon Cafe'!! We ate there on Christmas day by accident. When my sister called to make PS she said she wanted the resturant on the main floor (lobby) of the Wilderness Lodge. For some reason the operator thought she meant Artist Point. When we got there (about an hour early) we checked the reservation at WC. We were not on the list, so she called over to Artist Point and there we were on the books there. OPPPPSSS! It was lucky we came early because they had a couple of no-shows at WC so they had open tables. (Remember this was Christmas Day!) My family isn't really that adventurious when it comes to food so "game" type food just isn't something we felt like sampling on Christmas day (especially at the prices they were charging at AP). We loved WC. Our waiter was great. They really know how to make a dining experience fun! A guy in the table next to ours had a bucket of ice water on the table with a very long straw. We asked our waiter why the guy had a bucket of water on the table. He looked at us and matter-of-factly said, "He did ask for a LARGE water!" We had a very good meal and I would eat there again in a heartbeat!
