Whispering Canyon....
My son {GoofyKid} (age 7) would like me to ask this question on his behalf since he cannot post because his account is not activated yet.
"Is the Whispering Canyon Fun?" and "what can I expect to do there?" Are the games like the ones at O'hana?? I finally talked Mom and Dad into taking us there. I'm very excited......!!!!:laugh We are going to be in Florida in 3 weeks! Yeah!!! This will be my 5th trip to WDW in 7 years!

Right now I'm all excited about lining up my family with little cups of "beverly" and taking their picture right after they sip it. Are there any other little surprisesI should know about that I can subject these unsuspecting family members to? thanks:bandit

Shucks, when we ate there back in Nov. just at opening it was the most BORING rest. I'd ever been at!! Kept telling my kids about pony races but we never saw one and when we asked for ketchup we just got ketchup, nothing else. Waiter barely smiled. Maybe it is more lively later in the evening (we ate at 5pm). Good luck to you!!

PS, we did enjoy the breakfast. Had good service, the food was delicious and since we were there when it 1st opened, it wasn't loud and the "antics" hadn't started. If you do decide to go, I hope you have a good time.:)

We went to the Whispering Canyon on Christmas day 2002. The meal was great and the CM were alot of fun. One of the waitresses pointed at a lady and yelled (in the loudest voice she could) "Please everyone be quiet she is talking on her CELL PHONE"...she kept repeating that statement and pointing at the lady (as she sunk down in her chair. The whole room was in a uproar. The people in the table next to us had a bucket of water with a very long straw on their table. We asked the waiter why they had a bucket of water on their table and he sighed and said, "He DID ask for a LARGE ice water" The meal was great, all-you-can-eat and served family style.

We went to Whispering Canyon in March for Dinner and LOVED it. While we personally weren't "targeted" in the fun we had a ball watching everything that was going on. There was a little girl there celebrating her birthday and they made her two older brothers go around the restuarant chanting; Happy Birthday to Megan, She is the best sister in the world, we are not worthy of her!
It was too funny! |

We ate at Whispering Canyon in 2000. Our friends told us how great it was and said to make sure to ask for ketchup. We were Disney newbies since we never ate at any "nice" restaruants so we figured we'd try it.
It was our first time at Wilderness lodge and to say the least we were impressed. Unfortunatly, I was not impressed by Whispering canyons. First of all, the food was dry as tasteless. Second, the waiters were very annoying!!! They tried to make people laugh, but it was hard to hear anyone laughing. Everyone was anoyed by the clanking try holders. And for the ketchup. I think they take this too far. There was a little girl (maybe 6) at the table next to us. She asked for ketchup. The waiter went to every table and brought her about 15 bottles and set them in front of her. Needless to say she was overwelmed with confusion. She accidently knocked several bottles over and ketchup and broken glass went everywhere, including on our food and plates. We had to have our tabled cleared and new food brought out. WHAT A MESS!!!! We have never had a poor experience at Disney, except for this place. We are not party poopers, but I don't think there slant at comedy at this place is amusing. We plan to eat at 50's primetime. Am I making a mistake? Is it as annoying? So, bottom line is, we will be staying at Wilderness Lodge, but will not go near Whispering Canyon. Just my oponion!!!! |

We eat at Whispering Canyon whenever we're at WDW. It's a great place to go if you have a big group. I think the horse races and such start around 6pm. The all-you-can-eat skillet is our absolute favorite and have never found the food to be dried out or tasteless. Have fun!
