Artist Palette question

Hi! I am wondering if Artist Palette at SSR is a food court such as at POR and POFQ? Thanks!

Re: Artist Palette question

I wouldn't call it a food court, it's a small counter service place in the gift shop. It's not as big and doesn't have as many choices but it's nice enough.

Re: Artist Palette question

We own a DVC at SSR and it's fine but very few choices. I have stayed at SSR, ASMo's and OKW and I really miss ASMo's food court.

We've only spent one night at a value but you can't beat their food courts. I think the nicer the resort the few choices you get for counter service. I love BC but the fast food options are limited to cold sandwiches and salads. No burgers and fries unless you go to Beaches and Cream and it's a sit down restaurant.

Re: Artist Palette question

There is a full-service restaurant now at SSR. We didn't eat there, but the menu sounded good and the setting was beautiful - overlooking the river.

The Artist's Palette is pretty good for a quick bite. But really, none of the DVC properties have really good counterservice. We always take a quick walk to the Marketplace for Earl of Sandwich or Wolfgang Puck Express.

Re: Artist Palette question

We've stayed at Saratoga and ate at Artist's Palette several times, in my opinion it's one of the better features at SSR. I'd call it more "cafeteria" style or counter service than a food court. I love flatbreads though, and the salads always tasted fresh to me. For some reason I could have sworn it used to be open during dinner hours but now it's not. Maybe it never was, but I could have sworn one of the times we ate there was dinner time. Haven't tried Turf Club yet.

We ate there for supper in June 2005. I had a flatbread pizza and hubby had the chili. Both were very good.

Re: Artist Palette question

Artist's Palette is like a cafeteria. The choices are limited, but the food is very good. There also is a daily dinner special, which is almost comparable to restaurant fare. One day the special was roasted chicken, another day it was stuffed meatloaf. The seating area is on the small side, but you can get your food to go and take it back to your room. We liked it. The only negative was that during busy times (noon), there can be a long line to place your orders.

It definitely use to be open for dinner. DD and I ate there twice. And the flatbreads are very good - they usually have a pasta special too. Maybe now that The Turf Club is open, they close it for dinner. Seems a little weird though...lots of people just want a quick bite in the evening...

It's listed on AllEars as just being breakfast and lunch now!
