Canada or Germany

I am debating between going to lunch at either Le Cellier or Biergarten in Epcot. Has anybody dined at either or both? What did you think? Which should I avoid?

Thats what I did and the winner was LeCellier ! I am really looking forward to checking out a place that was picked for me from here at DC.

I have eaten lunch at Le Cellier a few times - it is wonderful. I have eaten dinner at both your choices. I prefer Le Cellier. Be sure to try their cheese soup!

Depends

Both are great choices. I have eaten at both many times. Depends upon which type of food is your favorite. Also, the Biergarten has entertainment, while Le Cellier does not.

I have eaten at both. The Biergarten used to be an excellent place to eat until they changed it to a buffet. They used to offer authentic Germany dishes, but now it is only the foods associated with Germany like sausage and sauerkraut.

Le Cellier is a great place to dine. The meats are wonderful and the appetizer and desserts really stand out. This would be my choice to try this trip. You can always try Germany another time for a lighter fare.

:p

Sorry,Linda,I have to disagree with you. The Biergarten is by far the best restaurant of the two mentioned. I have eaten Apple Strudel in Germany and Austria, and the best strudel I have ever tasted is made at the Biergarten.

I certainly didn't mean to imply that the food wasn't good. I'm sure that it is, because Disney would expect no less.

BUT, having had a German Sausage Maker as an employee here in Houston, and being able to endulge in authentic German dishes such as Weinerschnitzle [sp] and Sauer Braten [sp], Roladin [sp], the menu at Germany is a little limited. It used to include all of the above dishes and were made to order. Now it just seems so "common" with the buffet.

Every year we go to the Biergarten!! The buffet has a lot to offer! My 2 dd's love it there!! They have an oompa band there and they invite everyone to come up and dance! I was chosen to partake in the yodeling contest, and I ended up winning! I had a lot of fun,but this year I'll let someone else give it a try! LOL!!

My vote is for the Biergarten!! As mentioned above the buffet is great if you like German food. Not as fancy as other places but a lot of fun. I also was selected to participate but to do that dance (can't remember what they call it) and won a free dessert. Would not visit Epcot without eating here !

The Best Steak I ever had. I've only been to Le Cellier once and have never eaten in Germany (that will change this August). I am a steak lover and hands down, Le Cellier is the best I've ever had.

As far as environment, I took my two boys, 14 and 11, while the Bride was with our daughter at MGM, and all three of us loved it. We finished right before Illuminations and though Canada didn't offer a terrific vantage point for the show, our experience was definately enhanced.

If you like steak, Le Cellier is the place for you.

Beirgarten all the way! Best place I have eaten. Especially if you like Beck's Octoberfest Beer. I only wish it was closer to me. 1200 miles is a bit of a stretch to drive for a dinner on Saturday night.:) :)

:) Welcome Hylander6! I know just how much you really do enjoy Germany--have the picture to prove the post "Beck" beer to prove it.

Hope you enjoy DC as much as I do.

:heart :) :heart
