To Hoop-do-doo or not?

Okay I'm having a very tough decision on whether to do Hoop-de-doo this trip in March or wait unitl October 2005 for DD's birthday. Here is what we have tentatively scheduled for march:

CRT (breakfast0
O'hana (Dinner)
Chef Mickey's (Dinner)
Crystal Palace (Lunch)

We will be there for 6 nights/7 days. And I know one night my mom & sister want to eat at the Japanese in Epcot. I really don't want to leave a park to early so should I just wait until 2005 for the big 5th Bday blow out for this one?? We plan on staying (hopefully) like 10 days then. The only reason I'm asking so early is because I've read you need to make the PSs way in advance for this one.

Thanks!!

Personally, I think I'd wait til the birthday bash. Sounds like you've got a lot planned for 7 days already, & it will make a great surprise for the birthday kid...just make sure you let them know when you make your reservation & when you check in that you have a birthday person! I'm sure they'll do something cool. And yep, I think you can make reservations for that like 2 YEARS out, & I would do it if you can. Seating is assigned by when you made your reservation for that one, unlike the Backyard Bar-b-q which is assigned as you show up.

But that's just my opinion!!:D :D :) :)

I would also have to go with waiting until the next trip. You shoud get a great table 200 days out and have a birthday surprise. I think we are going to look at HDD on our next trip when our DS (4) is a little older.

Wait till the next trip! We took our now 16 yo there for his 7th birthday. They sang to him and, as there was a little girl there also turning 7, tried to marry them off! It was really fun and a special remembrance for him.

I think that to fully enjoy HDD and FW, you should devote half a day. Transportation to and from FW is time consuming. Plus, there is so much to do at the campsite (like hay rides, petting zoo, and campfire program) that you want to have time to see it all.
If you have time this trip, I say go for it! But, if you don't...put it off until your next trip. You will really want to enjoy your time at FW...and will really be missing out if you only go for the Hoop.
Happy planning!

trishb thank you .. after reading this I decided that we will wait till next year when we plan to stay 3 weeks. I was thinking maybe we would do it this year because we have never done the HDD. Actually until this board and all the great things I have heard about HDD we werent really interested ..we love the Luau and did that several times.

Trish did you take your DS? I was thinking that only you and your mom went. I'm trying to decide if my 4 yr old DD will enjoy it. I kind of think she is too young to get the jokes. What's your opinion?

Dab...I did not take my boy with me this time. There were a few kids there, and they seemed to be having a good time. There is a lot of music, and clapping...if she likes music she might enjoy it. There is always food on the table, and the environment is very casual. If I remember correctly, the show is about 2 hours long.

I don't know whether the Hoop will be right for your little girl. It won't be good for my boy until he is about 8 or 9, because he hates to sit still!

But, I know she will enjoy the petting zoo and pony rides. I can't wait to take my little guy to FW!:)

Thanks Trish. I think I'll just stick to the suggestions about FW and wait on the HDD. It is kind of pricy for a 4 yr old!
