What do you think about a meal plan?

I know WDW has a package that covers your meals BUT what if you could buy like a meal card that would be good for 1, 2, or 3 meals per day at WDW and 2 snacks a day. I mean the card would work anywhere in WDW and could be linked to your room key. What would you pay for this? (Lets say for a 7 day stay) What do you think??

(Mickey's whole WDW mug pole got me thinking about this)

Sounds Great!! I think some of you need to get on the disney payroll there are far to many good ideas on this sight. If I was an dsiney exec I be checking these sights to see how I could better enhance our services.

Maybe it could be like the hotels Value Plan, Moderate Plan, Deluxe Plan. Each plan listing so many rest for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Rest would be rated as either value, moderate or deluxe and say for example a value breakfast would be $7 per adult $5 per child. Moderate lunch 12 adult, 10 per child, Deluxe dinner 20 adult 10 per child. You could dine at only the rest listed on the plans and it would be charged to your debit meal card.

I sure you get many great idea on this one.

Sounds like a great idea. I think over a 7 day stay I would be willing to pay as much as $500-$600. I figure there are some days that we spend well over $100 (some days we spend $100 in one restaurant for dinner) just for meals and snacks. Then again there are days that we spend much less depending on where we eat but I think somewhere between $500-$600 would be good. You figure there has to be some kind of discount involved or no one would buy it.:)

I just returned from a stay at the All-Stars. We ate breakfast in the food court each morning and our breakfasts cost over $7 per adult each morning by the time you added juice or milk; the cost was closer to $10! I would think that the deluxe dinners would be at the nicer sit-down restaurants where an adult dinner ends up costing about $35-45. A deluxe breakfast (eg. character buffets) cost $20 per adult!

In actuality, WDW did offer a meal plan add-on a few years back called the Fun and Dine Plan or something like that. It seemed like a good deal for the guest. Maybe it wasn't such a good deal for Disney and that is why they dropped it.

The current packages do have an add-on where you get some meals on a daily basis as well as recreation activities. I think it costs $75 per person per day. Could be worthwhile if you really plan out your meals and activities and take advantage of the higher cost ones.

I know my cost were low I was just using them for estimate purposes. Would'nt it be nice it they were that low though. I think they should be less than what you can get yourself because othrewise where would the savings be. We spend about $200.00 a day when we are there on drinks, snacks and dinners. Somedays we fast food it and others were indulge more but on a average it's about $180-200 per day.

Boy, do I wish the food costs would be that low. With 6 teens in tow, I could save plenty! :D

Unfortunately, I don't think Disney looks at it as a discounted plan but rather as a plan of convenience, ie. having your meals prepaid for. Similiar to their packages (except for the Fairytale Package).

I hear you this year when we go our middle DS will be 12 so no more kid meals for him it will hurt shelling out the adult price for the character dinners. Six teens, we have one teenager now and I'm not sure if I like him somedays. He not excited about our Oct plans he doesn't want to miss school and he's trying to con me into letting him stay with his me-me. I'm of course insisting he go it's just not the same if we aren't all together plus he always has a blast once we get there.

My teen crew always looks forward to our summer WDW trip. But during the school year, my son would stay home rather than miss school for various reasons, mainly due to his extracurricular activities and attendance record.

preidel24, when you are paying adult buffet prices for your 12 year old, think of me at Yachtsman Steakhouse last summer with 5 teens, 3 of them hungry 18/17 year boys who love their steak! :D

I have to say I don't feel as bad now. That's really a crew to feed and at the Yacht Steakhouse all I can say is lucky kids!!!

DS is just a freshman and he doesn't want to miss for some of the same reason you said football, theater and other activities. DH builds alot of new schools so his busy time is summer so we always have a vacation on off times. Last year we went in April. This year I was going to take advantage of the NJ Teacher Conf days off but with the fairytale pkg we decided to go earlier.

What's it like in disney during the summer? I'd just like to experience MK staying open later than 7pm just once. Last year when we were there it closed at 6pm.

Summertime at WDW is hot and humid with late afternoon thundershowers. We go to the parks mainly at night and do resort activities during the day.

I would be glad to pay $300.00. That would be a bargain with what we have to pay today.

I would really like a meal plan. I like to try and pay for as much as I can before I even leave for the trip.
If they had a plan like this I would highly consider it even if the price was the same as buying all the meals seperately and paying as you go.
