Does anyone ever.....

just go into some of the sit down restaurants for appetizers, drinks or desserts without getting a full meal? My sister and I were thinking about trying out all the desserts we can on this next trip

, but I don't want to feel like I have to get a full meal everywhere I go as well!

Anyone?

Don't feel obligated to eat a full meal. If all you want are some appetizers, drinks, and desserts, fine. You are the guest and will still generate a bill of $20 or more easily.

I have never done this but I really like the idea! I will have to keep that in mind as an option in the future.

I don't see any problem with it. Your giving the restaurant business and if all you want is appetizers, drinks and dessert then so be it

That sounds like a good idea....sometimes the appetizer and dessert looks better than the entree anyway!!! I will keep that in mind for my next trip since we are still debating on the dining plan.

Don't forget that ADRs are still recommended for most, if not all sit downs. If only so that you know you've got a table you won't have to wait long for.

Great point! I didn't even think about ADR's for something like that, but it makes total sense!

I have done this but not in WDW. I have been in Vegas on several occasions and did this for lunch. One time my mother and I went to the Paris Hotel and for lunch we had a great cheese platter app. then we each had soup and water. We had an out door seat. Spent less than $20 (before tip). We were full and ready for sight seeing and had one of the best meals I have ever had in Vegas.

The moral of the story: Do it. You never know what kind of experience you have weather you have a full meal or apps. but it is their job to serve you whatever you order and your job is to eat what you want. Just don't forget to tip!

I never feel like eating the entree if I have had the appetizer... so now I just get the appetizer! If I am in WILD MODE, I also get a dessert!

Except at the buffets, where I am happy to elbow full-size men out of my way as I belly up to the food for the fifth or sixth time!!! LOL

Sure! We've gone places just to try the desserts. You're under no obligation to spend a minimum amount anywhere. Go, try new places and have fun!

I like this idea and it's funny how this never occurred to me before. This is a great way to try out new restaurants without having to spend a lot of money. I am definitely going to remember this for my next trip.

We have done this before. Especially at Beaches and Cream.

We will go and only order 2 deserts to split between the 4 of us and drinks.

One as filler, the other with an appetizer and dessert..

My DW and I do this all the time. We always have a big lunch then just an appetizer and dessert for dinner.
