DDE Help!

I am pretty sure that we will not be using the DDP on our April trip due to the cost vs. value of the plan. I am wondering if the DDE is worth the money. We plan on doing 2 table service meals for 2 adults, DD (10)..who is considered an adult but prefers the childrens menu and DS (8).I never used the DDE. We are DVC/AP so I know there is a DDE discount. Any ideas or feedback would be helpfull!
Thanks!

Re: DDE Help!

We love the DDE card, it basically takes care of the tip for us. We didn't get the DDE card for our Christmas trip (I forgot to get it) but we'll be getting it for our May/June trip.

Re: DDE Help!

It's $65 with AP/DVC discount good for year. Table service places are 20% off and it applies to all times unlike the DVC Member discount which is only 10% and VERY limited.

I was just going to add the same-- since they now add that on it's almost a wash....

Re: DDE Help!

But wouldn't you tip that much at each dinner anyway?

Re: DDE Help!

I actually tip off the original bill not the discounted bill . so if they add the 18% the waitstaff loses out ...

Re: DDE Help!

I guess I really don't see that as a change because we would tip 20% either way.

Re: DDE Help!

The official e-mail response to this question was that WDW will add 18% for the tip before the discount. Nothing changes for us, because people should tip the waitstaff. I put myself through college on $2.11 hour + tips. Working in a restaurant is not easy! I usually tip 20% on the entire bill (including tax). I am sure that many people will even add to the 18% for great service.

Re: DDE Help!

its good to know that its before the discount as we always tip off the bill before the discount I only tip twenty if we had really good service just average I usually do 15 percent and bad service 10 percent

Re: DDE Help!

Sorry to bring back an old thread, but do you get a discount with DDE at CS places, and does anyone have a link? Is there a website?

Re: DDE Help!

I don't remember! I had the DDE card for awhile, and I clearly remember using it at table service restaurants but I do not remember using it at CS restaurants which makes me believe that they probably do not.
Either way the DDE was great for us and we really enjoyed using it! Saved us a lot of money!!

You can get a discount at the food courts at the value resort because they don't have a TS place. They used to give a discount at AK but since the addition of tusker house and yak and yeti, I'm not sure if that is still true.
