Akerhaus with the Princess - Opinions please.

I'm thinking of making an ADR at Akerhaus so my daughter can seen the princesses, I'd like to here your opinions.

We're not a big breakfast family while we're at Disney, usually cereal or oatmeal in the morning; then we hit the parks running, have an early lunch and then a nice dinner.

Thoughts please on dinner the dinner menu. To anyone whose eaten here can you describe the food?

I would be disappointed if I booked this and no-one in our party (potentially 8 of us) enjoyed it.

We've eaten at Coral Reef, Garden Grill, chefs De France and Marrakesh, so we're looking for someplace different on our next trip.

Re: Akerhaus with the Princess - Opinions please.

We absolutely loved this character meal. The princess spent tons of time at the table, and they even played games with the kids like ring around the mermaid and Alice says. DD loved seeing Ariel in her green land dress. It was awesome. The down part was the food. We did not enjoy it. I had the chicken and vegetables which was very bland. The food was just so so, very bland, and tasteless, but it was well worth the attention dd got from the princesses, especially Ariel and Alice. Jasmine, Aladdin, and Belle were also there.

Re: Akerhaus with the Princess - Opinions please.

We have only did the breakfast here and it's a really nice character interaction with the Princesses (we have never seen Ariel there btw) and DD loves the Potato Casserole!!!
Typical breakfast foods, with scrambled eggs, sausage and bacon I believe!

We usually do this breakfast every year as it is the best food option for breakfast when we go to Epcot (We prefer sit down breakfast meals).

Iam sure your DD will enjoy it!!! DD requests it every year!!!!!!

Re: Akerhaus with the Princess - Opinions please.

As far as princesses go., this is nirvanna to any little girl. If you are not breakfast people, make the last ADR for breakfast and call it Brunch. I was not entirely happy with my meal here the year it started, but I haven't read many or any bad reviews of it since then, so it's definately worth trying.

Re: Akerhaus with the Princess - Opinions please.

Another person here that didn't care for the food. The four of us ended up eating only the meatballs...everything else was just bland or too weird for our family (cold fish, cold soup, etc).

I LOVE Dana's suggestion, eat a late breakfast and call it brunch. I'll bet you get a lot of extra interation with the princesses that way, too!

Yes! Go with Dana's idea! Breakfast is GREAT . . . Dinner . . .yucko! There are some very strange things on the menu for adults . . . I asked if I could have the kids menu! But it was a NO!

The Princesses rock at this location! But you have to book 180+ days out and they take a deposit, refundable if you cancel in 24 hours!

Look at this link for the 3 menus, breakfast, lunch and dinner:
Restaurant Dining Menus from Walt Disney World

ps. the desserts are good at dinner!

Re: Akerhaus with the Princess - Opinions please.

we are planning on having Thanksgivign diner here. allears says they offer the buffet along with holiday items.

kids menu looks good....the salmon sounds good on the adult menu. i am hoping that the holiday additions will make up for what the reg. menu is lacking in the way of diner choices.

True! But I was told that if I didn't call to cancel within 24 hours that a meal would be deducted from my DDP for everyone in my party!

Re: Akerhaus with the Princess - Opinions please.

It has a couple years for us, but I can remember the Princess interaction was great (equivalent to CRT). We did not care for the breakfast at all. Everything came to the table in a skillet. All of it tasted the same and was dry. It could be better now.

Re: Akerhaus with the Princess - Opinions please.

We have never been to the breakfast, but I can tell you that we wait at the turnstiles early in teh morning, waiting for rope drop, and we always get to see a flodd of tiny princesses arriving for their breakfast at Norway! Little Snow Whites holding their daddies' hands, tiny Cinderellas skipping and waving... it is abslutley adorable!!!

Ariel is not there for breakfast only lunch and dinner, that is why we do not do breakfast there.

We have only done it for Breakfast and we loved it. The food was good and they spent a lot of time at each table signing autographs and taking pictures
