We like Backlot Express, and there are a ton of cars/motorcycles.props for your son to look at-if he likes cars!

That is something this park DEFINATELY lacks, really good counter service locations. Although, we really prefer the "ABC Commissary." They have a different variety of food for adults while still all the "standards" kids like.

I should also say that the hot dogs & grilled turkey sandwiches at the Backlot Express are good:

We loved ABC commisary. We haven't been there since the recent menu changes, but I really enjoyed our meal there last year. It wasn't that crowded and we got in and out quickly. It was nice just to sit and relax in the A/C for awhile.

We like the Commissary as well. I like the Reuben, DH like the burger.

we go to pizza planet (the kids share a meal, you get an individual pizza and salad) and ABC commissary (i get the cuban, DH and both girls get fish). we have done both of those on 2 trips, and plan to do them again next time.

I have to say I am not impressed with the TS or CS at Hollywood Studios. That said, I'd probably vote for the Commisary. DH loved their Cuban sandwich!

I can't really say since we have only tried Pizza Planet for CS there. Its ok, but not great.

We usually go to Backlot Express (they have great turkey sandwiches!) But we are going to try a new place called the Flatbread Grill....menu looks good on allearsnet so we'll see! Flatbread Grill Studio Catering Company Menu - Disney-MGM Studios

I have only tried the Commissary there..I thought it was just ok.

The Commisary's food is a little to different for my family. We like the Backlot express a lot.

I don't really care for any of the CS locations in the Studios.
As for ABC's Cuban sandwich, there's plenty of places to get a better version for less money in the real world.
It's Florida and there's Cuban food everywhere!

None of it is spectacular, but I love Toy Story Pizza Planet...it is refreshing to me that you can get an individual pizza and salad together for one price. It's amazing how good salad tastes when you've been eating chicken fingers and fries for days on end!

Backlot Express is good too, but if you are looking for food that's a little less "traditional" for a CS, then ABC Commissary is the way to go.
