Flame Tree?

I ran across a note someplace that said the Flametree Barbecue was no longer open.

Can anyone confirm?

If true, then it's a shame...since I do love a good platter of barbecue (and since it's a vacation, could probably get away with making a pig of myself). Any suggestion for alternate sources of smokey goodness?

It is my understanding that it is only open seasonaly, and is used dependent upon the number of people Disney expects in the parks on a certain day. It has been closed every time I have been to Animal Kingdom. I know that it was open over the Easter holiday. The other choice that I would consider is Whispering Canyon in Wilderness Lodge. All you can eat BBQ, fun atmosphere and all you can eat.
