Tokyo Dining - Opinions????
This Sunday, Superbowl Sunday, is DW's birthday. So since it is Superbowl Sunday we are celebrating at a friend s Superbowl Party.
Just so you know DW wants to go to this party as well. That being said we are going to EPCOT tomorrow to celebrate DW's birthday. Of course we waited to the last moment to decide so the pickin's were few for ADR's. I tried our favorites but they were fully booked so we decided on the newly remodeled Tokyo Dining in the Japanese Pavillion. DW loves Sushi and checking the menu they have ala carte of some specials. Does anyone have any opinions or experiences at this eating establishment???? |

LOL I thought you actually meant Tokyo as in Japan Disney, LOL, I have never tried it, so I wouldn't know, but you made me chuckle!

Re: Tokyo Dining - Opinions????
They have a complete ala carte sushi menu.
We ate there on 12/30. The raw fish was very fresh and clean tasting. If you eat sushi, you know what I'm talking about. The tempura is good as well.

Are Tokyo Dining and Teppan Edo the same thing? I was looking at their menu's and I was confused because they look the same. Dave loves Japanese food and I was thinking of making an ADR there but I don't know which one to choose. Do they still do the "cook on the table" hibachi type stuff?

Re: Tokyo Dining - Opinions????
No, Tokyo Dining and Teppan Edo are not the same. They are two different restaurants under the same main roof. Teppanyaki used to be in the front room and there was a smaller sushi bar in the middle of the building. Now Tokyo Dining is in the front and they've moved the hibachi restaurant into the middle. Tokyo Dining is a sushi and tempura menu.

the sushi was good in tokyo dining, however, I did not like there tempura. The kids meals were also cute, they came in an airplane and our waitress brought the kids lots of different oragami animals!

Japan hasn't built a space shuttle (yet), so it's not a space shuttle like one of the first reviews I read called it. It's not a plane either, because Japan hasn't built anything like that either. What Japan has built and is famous for ( and they look like this too!) are the high speed bullet trains.( Ninja Express?)This only dawned on me when we ate there on Dec 30, and I'd already seen them a few times. That and I'd just watched a show on high speed trains and they showed Japanese bullet trains. That's really when the light went on. Re: Tokyo Dining - Opinions????
Yes Bella, make your reservation for Teppan Edo if you want the hibachi tables and the whole "Benihana" cook at your table show thing.
One way you can keep Tokyo Dining and Teppan Edo straight in your mind is the old place was named Teppanyaki and the new one is Teppan Edo. The important part is "teppan". I don't remember the name of the old sushi bar.

Re: Tokyo Dining - Opinions????
Actually the front was Matsu-No-Ma lounge. There you could get sushi and a few appetizers.
The middle room was Tempura Kiku where you could get Tempura and sushi. It originally only had Tempura but as sushi became popular they added sushi to the menu and took over one side of the Tempura place The back room was Teppanyaki which was a Benihana type place. Tokyo Dining took over the spaces that were occupied by Matsu-No-Ma lounge and Tempura Kiku Teppan Edo is a remodeled version of Teppanyaki. |
