Re: We got Chef Mickey's !!
Great news! Keep Chef Mickey's the kids will love it. The character interaction is very good IMO and if you mention the birthday they will make a big fuss.
The kids will enjoy the food selections and they have really yummy desserts. I am so happy you got the ADR you had been hoping for.

Re: We got Chef Mickey's !!
See persistance pays! Congrats to you. I am so happy that you got it. I have been there many times for dinner, but can't do it anymore. I get a bad reaction to buffet foods (cooked) and avoid them for lunch and dinner at all costs. I can do them for breakfast however and have Chef's booked for my August trip. That is a wonderful character meal..a great experience for the young and old.

Re: We got Chef Mickey's !!
Why not get him a Happy Birthday button for that day and make it his day of celebration at Disney World. Tell him it's a late birthday present for you.
That way he'll have special wishes all day!

Re: We got Chef Mickey's !!
Ate at Concourse Steakhouse in July, the thrill of the monorail overhead quickly ended due to the SLOW service. Took way, way too long to feed us .The kids got really antsy.
Have eaten at Chef Mickey's for dinner and the kids loved the kid-friendly buffet. Time spent was just right! I agree with the majority, keep Chef Mickey and ditch the CS...besides I read somewhere that it's going to be replaced by a self-sevice dining facility.

After experiencing Chef Mickey's last year, it is now a Disney trip staple for us. We had SOOOO much fun.

Re: We got Chef Mickey's !!
We always went to chef mickey. Since the kids are getting older they havent asked to go back. We either wore it out or there interests changed.

After the service we had there on New Year's Eve, I'm never going back to Concourse Steakhouse either. Well, one thing has nothing to do with the other. With only one visit to WDW scheduled between now and when it closes for good, Concourse Steakhouse is out of rotation regardless. Now, about the service. Well, that's just a teaser. We were seated way past our reservation time, but at 7 PM on New Year's Eve, things are a little out of everyone's control. We needed to be finished with dinner and out the door of the Contemporary and on the path to the MK by 8:05. We were finally seated around 7:30. We told our waitress that we were under severe time pressure. She recommended the prime rib, which I was probably getting anyway. With soup and entree, but no dessert, we got out in time and our waitress was attentive enough to refill our beverages twice. The moral of the story is that some wait staff are better than others, regardless of where they work and sometimes, it can even be the same person a half hour apart.
