DDP for SoG?

Hi all. I need some help. I have become somewhat of a Disney guru to the patients of my dental hygenist. I have several people that I have advised on their trips but have never met! If only I could make a career out of it! I bet we all think that don't we?

Anyway, this one I am working with is staying at Shades of Green. She wants the dining plan but I told her as far as I know you can't get the DDP without either booking a package (which you can't do at SoG) or being a DVC member. Does anyone know differently??

Thanks,

Lisa

As far as I know, you can't book the DDP at shades of green.

Re: DDP for SoG?

No annual passes. Bummer...looks like they are up a creek. But they are getting one heck of a sweet deal as it is, so I don't feel too awful bad for them.

Thanks for the help.

Re: DDP for SoG?

As far as I know, you cannot get the DDP if you stay at SoG even if you do have an annual pass. while you still get all the perks (EMH, transpo, etc) like you do with a Disney resort (similar to Swan and Dolphin), for the purposes of the dining plan, it is considered like any off-property resort.

The good news is that SoG has some good restaurants that are cheaper than some of the Disney ones, which can help offset the cost. Also, remind them they can get the military discount park tickets at the service counter inside SoG. Current ticket prices are at the SoG website and AllEars.net.

I believe you have to stay at a Disney resort and SoG, Swan, and Dolphin aren't official Disney resorts.

Shades of Green is not a Disney owned and operated hotel. SoG is operated by the United States Department of Defense. You can only purchase the Disney Dining Plan if you are staying at a Disney owned and operated resort. No exceptions, same as Swan and Dolphin.

Shades of Green participates in EMH only. SoG provides their own transportation, same as the DTD area hotels. Disney Transport does not service SoG in any way. Keep this in mind if you plan to dine there and you aren't staying there.
