Re: Whats up with the Rainforest Cafe?
We like it. Not so much for the food, but the atmosphere. We've made it a tradition to have an ADR there for dinner at the end of our AK day.

Re: Whats up with the Rainforest Cafe?
We have one here in CT over in the West Farms Mall- the food has some seasoning on it that tastes to us like it has been brushed with dirt- it tends to be a tad spicy for the kids and other than the atmosphere we have always had a hit or miss with the food- Not worth wasting time for us at WDW when there are so many other great places to eat!

Re: Whats up with the Rainforest Cafe?
I have to agree with woohoo. We've tried 3 different Rainforests and the food was bad in all of them. And Good Lord it's loud in there.
No thanks. we'll go elsewhere.

I have always liked the restuarant. I have been to a few of them around the country. I have never had any problems.

Re: Whats up with the Rainforest Cafe?
we don't do it every trip. We have a few nearby in Texas (San Antonio, Houston) that we visit every now and then. We do like it (Kids LOVE it!) and I definetly think you should try it at least once! If nothing else go in and look around the gift shop and take a peak at the restaurant. It's pretty fun!

Re: Whats up with the Rainforest Cafe?
Ive never eaten there but I love to wander around the gift shop and look around. My husband does not like the food so it seems a waste to go and spend the money on it.

Re: Whats up with the Rainforest Cafe?
We've eaten there a few times - both the Downtown Disney & the AK one. Food's OK, and the atmosphere is neat the first time or so. After we heard the storms several times, we thought it was loud and would have preferred it without. But, that's just us. We love the Rose and Crown and a lot of people don't, so you may enjoy the Rainforest. If you're leery of doing a full meal, you can always do just a dessert to try it out.

Re: Whats up with the Rainforest Cafe?
I really enjoy going for our visits. This coming trip will be the first time we don't do ADRs for it tho. If we end up there then we do but we're not planning on it. Only because we want to try out some new places. I have also given up Kona ONLY b/c I'm going during another trip. But both my kids enjoy it. DD was a bit frightened during the storms-she was 19 months then. She loved being in the Gorilla/Monkey section b/c we call her a monkey. I've always wanted to be in the Elephant section b/c I love them and would LOVE to ride on one some day.
It is definitely a place you go for the atmosphere. But my food has never been bad.

Re: Whats up with the Rainforest Cafe?
If it's anything like the one at Downtown DisneyLAND, all I can say about it is... LOUD.

Re: Whats up with the Rainforest Cafe?
We have eaten at both locations (DtD and AK). We prefer AK for a late lunch (leaving the park) it is not as crowed. The food is all right, nothing to brag about. They do have a good desert there, it is called a volcano. The last time we were there, we just had appetizers and desert.

Re: Whats up with the Rainforest Cafe?
My aunt and cousins live in Lakeland, Fl and sometimes when we come up they come and see us and we go out to eat and one year they took us there and it was SO good! I had the Rasta Pasta and it was great. The atmosphere is really why you go there though..it's excellent. We went to the DTD one but the AK one is probably a little less crowded I think. Also my little cousin Ally who was 5 at the time kept saying she wanted a Volcano which is a dessert so we ordered one and it was HUGE and delicious!
