Hoping for free dining!!!

My family has a trip planned in January, but I can't stand the thought of not going back one more time before YOMD is over. If free dining is offered I will def. be heading back this year! During what time frame has it been offered before? And what is the thought out there now; since they offered the bounce back do we assume it won't be offered again this year? On a side note how is park attendance looking with the rise in fuel cost? Maybe if attendance is down free dining will be offered to get us all down there!

THIS WAS ORIGINALLY POSTED BY MICKEY ON FRONT PAGE

Disney World 2008 Free Dining announced
Our friends over at MouseMisers are reporting the following:

Travel Dates: August 24 - September 20, 2008

Walt Disney World has released the long awaited Free Disney Dining program to the general public for the fourth consecutive year. This discount is identical to the Disney VISA cardholder free dining released on Monday.
With the “Free Dining” promotion, Disney resort guests who book a Magic Your Way package that includes both your Disney resort room and your Magic Your Way park passes, will receive the Disney Dining plan add-on for free for all guest age three and older in their party.

For the first time, Disney World guests will be able to book the “Free Dining”, and upgrade to the Disney Deluxe Dining for the normal price difference, which is $32 for adults and $10 for children three to nine. The Wine and Dine option is also available at full price to add onto either the Basic or Deluxe dining plans.

Availability is extremely limited, and must be booked by June 22, 2008. If you booked the Disney VISA free dining deal, there is no need to rebook, as this discount is identical to the one you have.

Guests must book a minimum of a three night stay, and must have at least a one day park pass included to receive the free dining.

Ask for the appropriate code:

AYG - Magic Your Way Dining Plan
AYH - Magic Your Way Dining Plan plus Wine and Dine
AYI - Magic Your Way Deluxe Dining Plan
AYJ - Magic Your Way Deluxe Dining Plan plus Wine and Dine

To book this great free dining discount, please contact our sponsor Mouseketrips.

Re: Hoping for free dining!!!

We're doing free dining too- and I have to admit its all a bit confusing at the moment However, I have printed off the Disney brochure that explains everything and I intend to study it deeply in the next couple of hours.

Re: Hoping for free dining!!!

No we haven't- partly because (and I am ashamed to say this) we just couldnt get the gist of it. Also with us spending such a long time at WDW we do tend to go off from 'The World' and do lots of shopping, Sea World, eating out etc and I didnt think it was a viable option for us, as some days we wouldnt use Disney for dining at all.
But we always take Keith from Mouseketrips advice and he advised us that adding Free Dining to part of our stay (14 nights) would be beneficial and we can do all the 'non Disney stuff' the other part of our stay (10 nights).
I still find it confusing and I am sure its one of those things once you use it and get into it its easy peasy and nothing to worry about- but at the moment its like information overload

You will love the dining plan. Everything is put on your key to the world. You have a counter service credit and snack and a table service credit for each night of your stay. When you order you just give them your key and they swipe it which takes the appropriate credit off and when you get your reciept the total remaining will be listed at the bottom. When you go into a table service restaurant the waiter will ask if you are on the dining plan and will help you out.

Re: Hoping for free dining!!!

They stack up until you use them. They have to be used by midnight on the day you check out. So, if you do a dinner show or signature dining you will use two table service credits for that meal. Other Table service meals are 1 credit each and counter service is one cs credit.
