Best Italian at Disney World?
Which Italian style restaurant would you suggest? We have thought about Momma Melrose, but the reviews are up and down, so if we want good Italian where should we go?

I have to agree with MissDisney, food was very good. Our family can't stand Melrose. We always had bad food and service there and it's so dark in there. Then as you said, some like it.

Re: Best Italian at Disney World?
I would stay away from Mama's as well. Don't know about any of the others, though.

Re: Best Italian at Disney World?
Huh, we were going to try Mama's this year b/c the menu on allears looked good. I'm not about eating in dark areas. I like to see my food. What to do??? The others didn't seem like I would enjoy it too much. I am a picky eater according to my DH. I was brought up one way and I am not about swaying from what I love.

Re: Best Italian at Disney World?
I have never been to Il Mulino, but have been to Mama Melrose. I liked it. I don't think it's "authentic" Italian, but being from near Phila. I wasn't really expecting it to be. It wasn't inedible though. I also don't remember it being too dark either.
Come to think of it, I guess I haven't been that big a help! ![]()

Re: Best Italian at Disney World?
I would think the new place in Italy is pretty good..I've seen some new reviews about it and it seems to be a big improvement over the old Alfredo's. I ate at Momma's once and was not crazy about it--it reminded me of Ruby Tuesdays...which is not bad..just nothing special.

Re: Best Italian at Disney World?
Last year we were also looking for some decent Italian food and tried Mama's. We were pretty disappointed. This June we have ADR's for Tutto Italia in Epcot. We're keeping our fingers crossed that it will be a lot better than Mama Melrose's.

Re: Best Italian at Disney World?
We are not bid fans of Mamas either.
But I have heard some pretty good reviews of the new place in Epcot.Being from the North East, we are surrounded by some great authentic Italian places and its is hard to compare. Hopefully, some others can chime in on their suggestions.

I have the same feelings about Mama's. It was one of our favorites a few years ago (we like the low lighting - romantic!!), but the menu isn't as good, the food was not great the last 2 times, and the service this last time was outrageously bad (our dinner took 2 1/2 hours because of slow service, our waitress was very rude, and the manager was no help). Needless to say, it is off of our list for GOOD! We are going to the new Italian Resteraunt in Epcot for the first time in May. We are also going to Tony's. I know lots of people don't love Tony's, but we like it - especially for the Tiramisu - it's to die for! Sorry I couldn't give you any good suggestions!
