It pays to know when to go!
I just made my reservations for dining. I am driving over up to WDW in two weeks. I know what you must think. You are nuts for waiting so long before making your ADRs.
Here are the ADRs that I just made and why: We are getting in at 6 PM on Friday for the Princess and Pirate Party, don't need an ADR for this day. We will be up late, so no need for a breakfast ADR. Saturday 12:30 PM - Yak and Yeti. It's new and I haven't eaten here yet, wanted to try it out. Saturday 6:00 PM - 50's Prime Time Cafe. I haven't eaten here in years and my kids have never experienced the characters here. They are almost 10 and 8, so this is a good age for it. Sunday we are doing Sea World during the day and EMH at MK that night. Going to eat at the Sharks Underwater Grill for lunch. The kids will be happy with Mickey D's on the ride back. Monday 1:30 PM - LeCellier. We are heading back on Monday, so I wanted an afternoon lunch at LeCellier because it's my favorite place to eat at Epcot. These were all my first and only choices for dining. I didn't have to look for a different place. (I will admit, I was surprised and happy when I got LeCellier) Why is it so neat that I got these reservations now instead of getting them a few months ago when I knew I was going? Because this is a really good judge of how busy it is going to be.

Congrats on getting your choices!! You were smart though..you picked good times and good locations! I've tried to wait and make ADR's late in the game and it never works out for me!

Re: It pays to know when to go!
Living 200 miles away has some advantages. I usually go this weekend if given the opportunity. A week after Mother's Day and a week before Memorial Day. Sure, you could get hit with a Love Bug swarm, but, for a Floridian, it's no big deal. School is still in session, it isn't a holiday. There is no reason to go to WDW. That's the time to go for me!

Re: It pays to know when to go!
They sound great! 50's Prime Time is magnifcent! I think the first time I went there I was about 8 or so, and I just fell in love with it. And it really made me fall in love with the entire 50's era. That and a little help from my mom mom! I think your kids will love it. I eat there every year on your WDW trip for my bday! It's a family dining experience MUST in my family.
I can't wait to read your review on Yak and Yeti! I'm anxious to hear what its like! Theme and food wise! Have a fantastic time! Great ADR's.

No kidding that's a good gauge of how busy it'll be. I'm shocked you got Le Cellier so late, though. We'll probably be arriving the same weekend that you are--fun fun!
We're trying Yak and Yeti for the first time, too. I can't wait to see what it looks like; I'm always the one gawking and staring at Animal Kingdom themeing.

Wanted to add - you'll love Shark's Underwater Grill. Very cool! My DS LOVES sharks and this was the highlight of his trip a couple of years ago.

I think is going to be a system shock for them. It's good to be the evil dad every once in awhile.

Re: It pays to know when to go!
I did pretty much the same thing when I went up for DW's birthday a few weeks ago. Other than locking in CG on her birthday before I'd even booked a hotel, I didn't make the rest of the reservations until 3 days before the drive up. Pretty much got all I wanted except Donald's Safari Breakfast, which seems to be more popular than the old Breakfastosaurus was.

Re: It pays to know when to go!
I will also be there in two weeks and have had NO problem getting a place to eat. I just couldn't find a place to stay.
![]() I've got 'Ohana breakfast, Tony's dinner and Tutu Italiana dinner, too. I may cancel the the Tutu, though. I think we might switch to Mama Melrose's so we can start our little trip in MGM, just like our first year with passes. I am also hoping that Toy Story Mania will be letting people try it out. ![]()
