Hidden Jewel - Turf Club at Saratoga Springs

A week ago we were visiting the mouse house. We had spa appointments at Saratoga Springs in the morning, by the time my wife was done it was time for lunch. We decided to try the Turf Club.

We were immediately seated. I wasn't hungry, but my wife was, so she ordered the crab cake appetizer with a side of french fries.

She received 3 good sized crab cakes. These were not "mailed" in, ie frozen crab cakes from some third party purveyor. Or a heavy, coating-caked crab cake. While not up to Flying Fish standards these were very good. (I stole a few bites).

The atmosphere was very relaxed. While it wasn't extensively themed, it had a "horse" racing undercurrent. Lots of windows.

I want to try again.

It's one of my new favorites! We've dined there on every trip since it opened. DELICIOUS!

The Turf is our #1 restaurant..Steak or anything.... We love it more than LeCellier (i know that's blasphemy to some).

I was sold at the Onion rings & 3 dipping sauces.

It does sound really good and worth putting on the 'must do' list.

Re: Hidden Jewel - Turf Club at Saratoga Springs

The Turf Club is a real "sleeper" (just like Olivia's at OKW).

We had dinner there last Feb. and absolutely loved it - I had a pasta dish and it was one of the best meals I had that trip. It's not "themed" but is wonderfully comfortable and relaxed. The staff is so friendly! It's a "must-do" for us from now on. Getting "Saratoga Springs water" in those gorgeous dark blue bottles was cool too! (My dh loved his Angus Beef Burger, too).

Re: Hidden Jewel - Turf Club at Saratoga Springs

I have a SSR stay Late July. Is this a place you can stop in without ADRs as the Family often does not want to go on my manic schedule?

I would say that it greatly depends on time & how busy the resort is. In late July I might be inclined to make a reservation. We were there Thanksgiving week and Turf Club was pretty jumpin' everytime we walked by that hallway. The other two times we have been, off season, you DEFINATELY could have walked in sans ADR.

Seriously though, this has been my new favorite since it's opened. It makes staying at SSR just a tad less dissapointing.

(I'm hard on SSR, it's totally unnecessary but I am still bitter that when I bought DVC it was the only option and every official I talked to TOTALLY denied any rumors about AKV or Contemporary. Now I'm stuck...
RANT OVER.)

Turf Club ROCKS!
