Try , try, again for ADR's.
Well I guess I will take your advice & keep trying to see if there are cancellations. I have not had to make ADR's this late before. I am usually way ahead of the game, but since we just decided to go, I'm a little later than I would like. I have not been able to get Donald's @ Tusker house for breakfast on any of the days we are there. I also haven't had luck with 1900 Park Fare for dinner. Le Cellier is booked, but that's ok since DBF said it was nice but wants to try something new. I also can't get into Ohana for breakfast or dinner ( but I will admit that there were bookings, just WAY too late. I will not miss "wishes" to eat).
 Anyway I will try again tomorrow & again on the weekend. I am persistent, & am sure we can get decent meals booked. I have already tried 4 times to get things covered for the week, & on the 3rd try I was able to into the Princess Storybook breakfast, just not on the day I wanted. I took what I could get & will keep trying. People do cancel these things, right?? I sure did if I knew I wouldn't go on past trips.

Last trip we had no one wanted to make any ADRs. So I made them without anyone imput. Once I told them about it everyone decided to put their opinions in and I had to cancel and change things all around! So yes, I canceled to switch ADRs. I have heard other people say they cancel within days or hours of the ADRs so you can always try that day to see if anyone has openings. Keep trying, you'll get something!

I don't know what it is with Donald's breakfast since it's been moved to Tusker House. I can't see it being more popular out of the box than Breakfastosaurus was when it closed. But I have not been able to get reservations yet either. I'm wondering if the dining room at Tusker is smaller than it should be, and if it is, that's a mistake that shouldn't have left the drawing board during the conversion to buffet.
As for switching reservations on the fly, I have done it many times.

Keep trying! Maybe think of some of the less popular places - you might find a new restaurant you really love.
Cape May at the Beach Club has a character breakfast. The Turf Club at Saratoga Springs is one of the nicest restaurants I've tried at WDW. Chefs de France is good too.. Bon chance!

You just to keep on trying. We lucked out one trip and got CRT at night during the week we were there. Even try walking up when you get there to see if they can get you in. Good luck.

Keep calling I got into Canadas resturant yesterday when I called they had a res canceled for when we go on our trip in Sept. I was able to score a few more places today as people cancel everyday.
Good luck we kept on calling daily at night and got what we tried for so far. |

I know Chef Mickey's is like totally booked solid for the free dining promo.
I had to call about every day for the last 15 or so days to get lucky enough to get a breakfast there on our last day of our trip. They had nothing else not even late reservations the whole 8 days we are there. So it has to be good to eat there. I know I almost passed out when the CM operator told me she had something for us! I say keep trying its a 1-800 number so there is no cost to keep calling. And with people changing their minds all the time I am sure you will be able to get in. I booked every single character dinner/breakfast (we did not try to get in the Castle) 1 each day to take advantage of the dining plan while we are there Sept 19-26. Most everyone I talked to was very nice. I only had one girl who must of had a bad day and did not want to check different resturants so I was nice to here and ended my call waited 20 minutes and called back and got a great girl who booked alot of places for us with good times with us having two toddlers. She told me to even call once I got there in hopes people cancel so I programmed the number into my cell so I have it there when we take our trip just in case! |
