Re: Princess Storybook Diner...

We've never done the dinner, but we do the breakfast every year. Yes, my girls dress up too. I think most of the girls we've seen have dressed up. I don't know if you're interested in the breakfast, but we think the food is very good. They serve these cheesy potatoes that are out of this world!

Well that sounds fun! I'd check out the menu on allears

Akershus Royal Banquet Hall Dinner - Norway - World Showcase - Epcot

And I'd definitely let my little girl dress up!

Re: Princess Storybook Diner...

my DD is now saying she doesn't want to wear a princess costume...she wants to wear a "fancy church dress" :C) (like her Easter or Christmas dress)

so i guess she & i will wear dresses & DH will go in khakis and a button down. (no tie)

she will be the "fanciest" one in our little group! LOL

Re: Princess Storybook Diner...

My DD4 prefers her "fancy" dresses to the itchy princess dresses too! Let her wear it . . . she'll look adorable! PLUS, they have a nice photo op with Belle (well it was Belle the last 3x we went, but I guess that could change) that they sell as a pkg to you if you want it!

The food at dinner is a little strange . . . they have normal kid fair, pizza, pasta, chicken . . . the adult menu has interesting stuff . . . and the all you can eat salad bar . . . was just OK! That's just IMHO! The princess interaction is great though!

MY ONLY TIP: Don't go on a night there is a P&PP or other Party at MK . . . they put all the "good" princesses over there . . . if you check out one of my old TRs, I posted the princesses we had the last time went . . . they were not so good!! And I think cuz all the "good" ones were at MK!! (plus we had Alice? Not sure exactly when she became a princess? )

Just a theory . . .

OMG!! i remember you TR! your comments about the princesses totally cracked me up.

thanks for the info. about the kid friendly food....and the unusual adult sections. we (DH & me) are fairly adventurous eaters...DD, not so much! so that work out fine.

we really are going for the princesses, not so much the food. as long as DD can get something she like, other than desert...we're good.

i am glad for her to wear her fancy dress...it gives me a reason to get a bit dressed up too! :C) i have a beautiful kimono style outfit that will be fun to wear.

i was thinking that they now include the photo pkg.??? but maybe not...will have to go check on that.

thanks for the info.

i get to make my ADR's on sunday...so just getting the last few questions answered and making solid choices and alternates, (hopefully won't need the plan "b"'s)

Well if you are adventurous then THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU!!

Now that you mention I think someone else said the photo pkg was now included? I know it is at CRT . . . most of the TS meals now take your picture beforehand and then try to sell them to you while you are eating!

You will have FUN . . . make the ADR so you are finished in time to watch illuminations . . . as soon as you walk out the door, there is a pretty good view of it!

Re: Princess Storybook Diner...

ALSO................thank you for the tip about not going when there is a special event going on at MK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

we have it planned to do the storybook diner on the 17th, the 18th IS MVMCP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

talk about how easily we could have been making a mistake if we had planned to go one day later, on the 18th!!

i would have changed our plans becasue of your tip, and the photos from your TR! LOL

thank you so much! :C)

~~~ i looked on allears, it doesn't mention the photo pkg., so maybe it's not included...oh well...not important, either it is, or it isn't...we'll find out when we're there! :C)
Re: Princess Storybook Diner...
Either way you can still take your own with Belle . . . sometimes they come out better anyway (like mine did) the photopass photographer will take a picture of you all with your camera as well . . . just ask!
Have a magical time!!
The pictures are not included in the meal at the breakfast--they come around with them and ask if you want to buy them. Maybe it's different at dinner? We've been when it's Belle, and the last time it was Aurora.
In "Through the Looking-Glass." Although there she becomes a queen without any kind of intermediary princess stage. (Part of the book is like a chess game -- Alice starts as a pawn and when she reaches the other side of the board she becomes a queen.)
I like the thread title idea more than the actual meal. A princess storybook diner would be much more interesting than the actual Norway character meal. "Hi, I'm Snow, what can I get for ya, hun?"
Ah, but what do we really know about Mary Poppins?
