Which dinner show is better?

I have 3 children 5 and under which dinner show would be better, Disney's Spirit of Aloha Show or Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue?

Re: Which dinner show is better?

Generally speaking Hoop-de-doo gets great reviews - the Spirit of Aloha, not so much.,,, although we've never been. It's been years since we were at Hoop-de-doo, but kids generally love it for it's corny jokes and general craziness. I'd go with HDD.

Re: Which dinner show is better?

I haven't been to the Spirt of Aloha show as of yet, have ADRs for there in Oct. But I am also going back to see the Hoop-Dee-Doo in Oct also. HDD is a must every trip I go to Disney. I do believe the kids would enjoy HDD the best.

Re: Which dinner show is better?

I've done the Spirit of Aloha and was not crazy about it. I haven't done the HDD. However, have you considered Mickey's Backyard BBQ? We really enjoyed that and it is extremely child-friendly.

Re: Which dinner show is better?

I would definately recommend Hoop de Doo for your family!! We took DD for the 1st time when she was 3 and she loved it!

We did the BBQ once too and I found it a little chaotic when you have little kids. I thought it was hard to keep track of her when Minnie and Mickey were on the dance floor. Kids pretty much went nuts!

We love HDD every time we go!!

Hoop De Doo Revue is so much fun. We go every year. It's so funny and the food is really good too! The show is great and we love how they have the audience participate. Twirling your dinner napkin over your head and playing an old washboard with your spoon is a real kick.

Re: Which dinner show is better?

We love the Hoop Dee Doo. We went for the first time when my son was 5 and he loved it. It's quickly become a must do for all of our trips. Good food and a funny show.

Re: Which dinner show is better?

Hoop Dee Doo for sure! We went 2 years ago when my boys were 3 and 5.

They LOVED it! So did we. The food is ok. Good not great. The show is GREAT.

I have not been to Spirit of Aloha so can't comment on that one.

Re: Which dinner show is better?

Definitely Hoop-Dee-Doo. We all laughed our heads off. We did both and the boys weren't too thrilled with Spirit of Aloha, except for the very last 10 minutes when the guy twirled the fire.

Re: Which dinner show is better?

I would think that kids that age would enjoy Hood Dee Doo more. I think its more kid-friendly entertainment and food-wise.

Re: Which dinner show is better?

For the kids, Hoop-De-Doo is definitely the right one. The Spirit of Aloha is more for adults who like to try new foods. Personally, I like the food at both.

I was going to suggest Mickey's Backyard BBQ as well - we are definately trying it on our next trip.. As others have said, HDD seems to get great reviews whereas SOA not so much. I would definately try it sometime, though. HDD is one of my faves!
