Tables in Wonderland

Noticed on another web site that the Disney Dining Experience will be called Tables in Wonderland. It is supposed to start with the Epcot Food & Wine Festival. Does anyone know if this is just for the F&W or is this a permanent change.

Strange name (imho) !!

Re: Tables in Wonderland

We had insider scoop on this name change from our own CM vlogilvie! I waited until they changed the name to buy the card, because I totally needed the new name in my wallet! LOL

Re: Tables in Wonderland

It's a wonderful card. We've had it for years now. Just remember that an automatic 18% tip is added to your bill. NO ONE will tell you about that. If you don't realize it, you may be tipping well in excess of 30% depending!!!

Re: Tables in Wonderland

It is a permanent name change.

The new name doesn't really excite me, but then again the original name wasn't that great, but it served its purpose since the original purpose of the card was for "locals"

I think "Tables at Disney" would be a better name.

DDE sounded so much like DDP- too much confusion. We enjoy our DDE and I like the name change.

I'm not thrilled with the new name, it's going to sound silly to tell a server we have the "Tables in Wonderland" card.

I can't stand the name. But I do agree, DDP and DDE were too similar. Where did they come up with "Tables In Wonderland"? What about "Dining Around The World" OR "Magical Dining"...something along those lines.

Hi, we have the "Tables In Wonderland" card. Yeah, DT...sounds SILLY!

I was trying to be nice about it by calling it silly. I can't stand the name either. I like either of your choices so much better.

Re: Tables in Wonderland

AP alert...

If you have a voucher for the AP and you are interested in the Tables In Wonderland card, you have to get that card when you arrive at guest services, along with your AP. You cannot order the card in advance, because you have to have an official AP card number instead of a mere voucher card number.

Re: Tables in Wonderland

The name change is because there was a lot of confusion between DDE and DDP.
The name was chosen to pay homage to Mary Blair who was the animator/artist behind many films and it's a small world. The food and wine festival is also paying homage to her and the timing of the name change corresponds with that. I love the name and anything associated with Mary Blair or Wonderland.

We just used this for our August trip, and the 18% tip was not added everywhere. California Grill did not do it, and I believe 1 or 2 other restaurants didn't add the tip either, but I can't remember which ones now-maybe Chefs de France??? Anyway, the point is, look carefully at your receipt because not ALL places do it automatically (unless those few restaurants were just ringing mine up wrong-I did get the discount, but maybe they made a mistake??)

I ate at Ca Grill in late July and they did add it. You have to look closely. It's not added in at the end so that it's easily found. It's added in along with all the other charges. If you still have your receipt, check it out. This site has a listing of who adds the 18%.

Re: Tables in Wonderland

Oh, trust me, I EXAMINED that reciept! Practically had to pull out my magnifying glass! We had such HORRIBLE service at CG that night, that even 18% would have been too generous, and I definitely did not want to OVER tip the waiter from heck. Not to mention, we did use the card everywhere else we ate, and I was able to see where it was added, so I knew what I was looking for. Like I said, there were a few others that didn't add it. I think I might have been given the discount, but they didn't ring it up properly to include the tip at those few places. Well, I KNOW I got the discount everywhere...just not sure how they rang it up.
