princess lunch or dinner any good at Epcot?

My daughter is 4 and loves the little mermaid.I heard she shows up for lunch/dinner meals more often than the breakfast. But my kids are picky eaters and I have my doubts about them eating Norwegian food.Does anyone know how the food is or if Ariel shows up there? If the food is too way out I'll just go to the breakfast and brave the lines for the mermaid in the Magic Kingdom.

Re: princess lunch or dinner any good at Epcot?

we had lunch there last year - food was just ok - except the desserts which were magnificent!!

my trip report from that trip is here http://www.mousebuzz.com/forum/trip-...ay-trip-3.html start at post 105 for akershus restaurant food pics and princess pics.

princesses are not guaranteed - meaning you never know who you'll get. so you may or may not see ariel. our princesses that day were Belle (in her yellow gown in the lobby for pics only), jasmine, cinderella, aurora, and Ariel (in her gown, with legs, haha). i honestly felt like these princesses were having bad days - they just didn't seem as lovely as they did at other visits. look at the pics - granted, they are grainy from being resized, etc, (mine are ok that i printed, so i dunno what happened when i posted them here) - wow - even my then 4 year old mentioned how bad they looked.

overall i wouldn't rush back, personally, unless the girls really wanted to (and they don't) - we haven't had any trouble seeing the princesses elsewhere, and while it was awesome to see belle in her yellow dress and ariel with legs -i'd rather eat elsewhere.

Welcome to MouseBuzz!!! We had lunch there a few years ago and did not like it at all. The food was not good to any of us and the characters were just ok. their interaction form table to table could have been better.

Welcome to MB! My DB and DSIL took my niece to Akerhaus last December and they loved it! Not having been myself, I have no other opinion.

I'm gonna have to say, we were not really impressed with this one either...although, this is the only place where we saw Ariel. I know she is in the grotto in MK but there was a long line for it.
We have a DD5 and if i remember correctly, the kids food choices were just like the other places .....but even the 'big people food', we really werent impressed. i would reccomend ANY buffet over the dinners any day!!
Character interaction really wasnt that great either. Cinderella was nice, and Belle was nice but I think that was because DD5 had her yellow Belle dress on.

PS welcome to MouseBuzz!

Re: princess lunch or dinner any good at Epcot?

We also went there and I wrote all about it in my TR:
http://www.mousebuzz.com/forum/trip-...-report-8.html it starts at post 119.

Anyways, we enjoyed it for the most part. The hot food was blah, the cold board food was better, the hostess was evil, the cocktails were wonderful and 2 out of 5 princesses were amazing (including Ariel..she was fantastic). However, my cousins took my little cousin there on her 5th birthday for breakfast and they had a great time!! They said the food was great (more traditional) and the princesses were awesome. Have you considered breakfast?

Welcome to MB!

I've had breakfast and dinner there . . . go for breakfast . . . way better!

I don't think the dinner was worth the extra $$ I'd do CRT before this! It's a little more per person but worth it!

Good luck!

Re: princess lunch or dinner any good at Epcot?

We have never done lunch or dinner Akershaus, but we LOVE the breakfast there. You've made a great choice in my opinion. I have 2 DDs, and we enjoy this meal every trip. We've seen Ariel for breakfast twice, I think. Here's one of our pics (the biggest and the smallest girls and the little boy are mine--the middle little girl is my neice):
