Fantasmic Dinner Pack

After Aug. I read you can no longer call and make PS for Fantasmic Dinner at MGM. You have to go there and make it and you can only do it up to 7 days in advance. Has anyone else heard this? I missed Fantasmic 2 times last year due to large crowds and I don't want to this time. Also, which restraunt do you like the best for this?

I have not heard that about the Dinner packages for Fantasmic. I remember making my reservations last Nov. at Mama Melrose, and we did enjoy the dinner there. Of course, remember one thing, it's true you can go about 30 minutes before the show actually starts, and you do not have to stand in any lines, but coming out you do have to exit with eveyone. Although, coming out reallly is not that bad. Good luck!!!:) JOANN

We went to Fantasmic 2 weeks ago and used the dinner package. We ate at H&V mainly because it had more of the type of food my DW and sons would eat. We arrived at the show about 40 minutes before and were seated about 6 rows up on the right side. After the show, we exited the same way we came in except we were directed onto the street that runs towards tower of terror and we beat most of the crowd out. When we got to the buses, we were in line by ourselves.

Last week over the phone, I made Fantasmic dinner package reservations for this coming August, so evidently it can still be done.

I haven't herd of this happening either. I know they keep extending the "phone in" PS Fantasmic dinner packages though.

I would keep checking to see if they extend the Fantasmic dinner packages...they are worth it for the time saved waiting in line, and with the dinner, too, it was a great value. We chose Mama Melrose's, and I think it was our best meal at WDW! We were allowed to order anything off the menu, including appetizer, entree, and dessert. Even the kids loved it! I sure hope you are able to make those PS reservations.

Pam

Thanks Pam and welcome to DC! What I read said you could make the reservation if you were coming up until Aug. 30 but after that....but I will check and see if they expand it. I sure hope so as it seems to be something that is really worthwhile.

I've heard of the "seven day rule," too. Apparantly, the dinner package can only be booked through August, and after that it can only be booked seven days in advance. But I've also heard that they keep extending the "advance PS" period month by month (it was originally supposed to end in March). Maybe by September they'll be letting us book for our October trips.

Best bet is to just stay tuned to this and other message boards for the latest info on the extension of advance PS possibilities. (I've been following this one myself as I'm going in October and would like to make a PS for HandV fantasmic package).

Good luck, and let us know if you get any new information!

I forgot all about this package. We are leaving in just a little over 3 weeks. Do you think that I can still call and get something for the 8 days that we are down there?
Im so stupid I forgot all about this. I got so wrapped up in making other PS's that I skipped over this one.

I just hope that they keep this package through November. It seems like such a convenient thing for people with small children. And how I hate to wait in line.

WEDINDISNEY: I would call immediately and see if any of the nights you will be there you can get the package. Maybe there will be something at one of the 3 places they offer it. Let us know if you get it and how it works for you after the trip!

I just talked to Disney Dining yesterday when I was making my PSs for Oct. The CM said that in August I could make my Fantasmic dinner package reservations for Oct. I asked him if that meant they were planning on continuing it, & he said yes.

When we went last July this was the rule in play. You could only book it "Seven days out" and then you could only book it in person. We did this in late July and did not have a problem getting a seating for dinner. The show was great the only downside was that we were all the way on the left side of the arena. The first time we saw the show we sat almost dead center and had a much better view of the live action portions of the show! Overall it is still worth it to book t he dinner package if you can!

We went in May....my wife called for 2 weeks before and we got the Fantasmic Dinner Package at The Brown Derby. We were in our local Disney Store and were looking for Autograph books (can't get them there!!!) and struck up a conversation with the manager. He told us about it and said we should call. We had read in Birnbaum's about it and that you had to be there and had to be within 7 days of the PS. With two bits of conflicting info, she said, "What the heck" and called for it and got it. So I say, what do you have to lose, other than the cost of a toll call?
