Princess Storybook breakfast

I just called and got 9:50 PS for the Princess Storybook bkfst in Norway on October 19th. I have previously read on these boards about girls being picked as Princess for a day. Any advice on how to get my DD, who's 4 and thinks that she is Belle, to be chosen? Do we have a horrible time being that it is soooo late morning? I can call back and try for the next day, but I didn't want to push my luck. We really want this breakfast to be special for our girl, so any advice is welcomed.

i never got to eat at the princess storybook so i really can't help you. the only thing i can think of is to call disney information and ask them. they will help you better than i can. ;)

let us know how it goes on getting your daughter to be princess for a day. i'll keep that in mind for our next trip, which is who knows when, so i can do the same thing. sure, i'm 21 now but it doesn't hurt to be a princess anyway when you're in WDW. ;)

Re

I was at the storybook breakfast in may of this year and I dont recall hearing anything about being princess for a day. but I did want to let you know that we really enjoyed this character breakfast. 5 princesses were there: snow white, jasmine, mary poppins, mulan and belle. The food was excellent.

Princess for a Day is chosen from the first who are there before the restaurant is opened. That person gets to "open the castle" at the first seating. Yes, you will most likely miss it.

Re

I just asked my 10 yr old DD, she remembers the kid who got chosen for princess for a day. I didnt realize they did that. We had an early ressie for this breakfast, they gathered all the kids together and they all said some kind of Magical word or something, then they gave a little girl a wand and she waved it and the doors opened, she must have been the "chosen one". I tried to get a ressie for CRT but couldnt get in, I even tried for a dinner ressie and couldnt get one but this breakfast was excellent.

that sounds so cute about the princess opening up the restaurant. i bet there is an awfully long line waiting outside the restaurant so someone's little girl will get to be princess for the day.

My DD was chosen to be "Princess of the Day" when we went Sept. 2002. We had the first seating time... I think it was 8:30. We were the first to check in at the podium and then another family checked in after us with 2 DD's (it was one of the girls 5th b-day). The manager at the restaurant was very freindly and spent a long time talking to my DD while we paitently waited for our seating time. We arrived about 15 min. prior to our seating time. The manager came back out and asked my DD how to spell her name, wrote it on a piece of paper and then disappeared again. When he returned he told her that she had been chosen to be "Princess of the Day" and open the castle for the guests. My DD and the 2 that arrived after us were given beautiful handmade princess style hats (made out of purple poaster board and gold fabric trim & curly ribbon). The three girls stood beside one another and waved a magic wand while the manager counted and the doors opened to reveal the wait staff lined up in rows singing a Norwegian welcome song. They seated us immediately and gave DD a beautiful card stock certificate with her name, date and Princess of the Day at the Princess Storybook Breakfast at Restaurant Akershaus. She got to keep the hat too! The princesses all signed her certificate and most of them even put lipsitck kisses on the certificate. The special attention was overwhelming! It was a moment to remember! We went back in Jan but had a late seating so I cannot report if they were still doing it then. I haven't heard of anyone else experiencing it but hope that many other little girls get the opportunity! Our photos aren't digital but if I can get the scanner working I'll post some photos. They are my favorite WDW pics!!

Wow, dab. I would love to see those pictures. My DD would be the happiest girl on the planet if she was chosen. The luck of the draw, I guess.;)

We consider ourselves extremely lucky!! She talks about it all the time! I'm afraid the title has gone to her head!! We framed her certificate for her room and one of her big stuffed animals proudly displays her precious princess hat. I'll see what I can do about scanning the photos!

Well, I called this morning and changed my ressie to 8:30. So I will keep my fingers crossed and we will get there early. Thanks everyone for the info. If anyone finds out that that are or are not still doing this for sure, let me know.

Thanks,
Lisa

Hi Tragic, I really don't know if they would choose an adult over a little girl to be the Princess, but I guess you could try if you really wanted to, good luck.

Love your new avatar, Jessibelle!!!

Well, I planned on having a character breakfast at the Polynesian, but this Princess breakfast sure is tempting. What do you think the chances are that we'll get to be princess!! My 6 year old daughter would die!!! Now I don't know which to set a reservation for!! Help me weigh the pros and cons.
