Restaurant Transportation

We've decided to stay at All-Star Sports and will be going to Chef Mickey's for a character dinner. I know that there is no transportation from one resort to the next. So my question is whether anyone knows how long it would take to get to Chef Mickey's from All-Star by Disney transportation (which park would I transfer at - Animal Kingdom)? Also, would taking a taxi be worth the hassle of not transferring? And, does anyone know how long the taxi ride would be and possible costs? I'll be with DH and DSs aged 8 and 1.5. Thanks!!

Chef Mickey's is located at the Contemporary resort, which is on the monorail loop that includes the Magic Kingdom and EPCOT. You would take the resort bus to the Ticket and Transportation Center or the Magic Kingdom and then board the resort monorail. I would guess that it would take 20 minutes total to get to the Contemporary. You could also just go after a day at the MK since it is right next door. You could also take a bus from the All Stars to any park, and then a bus from there to the Contemporary, but it would be much fast to go directly to the TTC.

You could take a taxi but my guess is that it would about five or six miles and may cost you $15 each direction.

Thanks Mickey. I think we'll take the bus to MK and then the monorail to Chef Mickey. Do you know how long the transportation runs after the park closes? We're flying in a bit late (I estimate we'll get to All Star at around 5:30). MK closes at 7 that night. I've made "reservations" at 7 but am worried about getting back to the hotel after dinner. Thanks again.

I believe the busses run until 2 hours after park closing. You could always get a bus from to Downtown Disney at anytime, and then back to the All Stars. The buses run to Downtown Disney until 2 in the morning.
