Oh that's how we like to plan it too. Air conditioned breaks are a necessity during the summer months! How long are going for?

8 days is perfect in my opinion. Just enough to do every park twice, and not enough so that you want to come back for more. :)

YOu might want to eat light on Friday night...The Earl of Sandwich is in DTD, but on the edge; even tired, you could swoop in, grab some great, but not too big sandwiches or soup, saving room for the large meals to come...also Wolfgang Puck Express is in DTD, on both ends, I think, though the one near DQ is easier to find and get to. Individual flat breads (we used to call them pizzas!) and great sandwiches as well. Both of these will take your Dining CS credits if you have some to spare, otherwise, they are not expensive OOP.

I cant wait to hear your reviews from your huge list of restaurants, enjoy!!

I still say Whispering Canyon on arrival day, but if that's not for you what about somewhere on the Boardwalk? Spoodles? Big River Grill?

Spoodles is gone for good, and I think they want to be out of the car already and not running all over the world to get dinner.

Re: Where should we eat?

More to think about... I would only veto Big River Grill- because it originate in Chattanooga where I am from, and we have been there 1000 times... Spoodles sounds fun- I have never been there..

Like I said, Spoodles is closed for good.
It's being converted into something else (something about a female Iron Chef winner) and won't reopen until the fall sometime.

I remember reading that now. I hope the new restaurant is at least as good as spoodles!

Which is why I suggested you probably ought to just grab something en route to WDW instead of holding out till you get there.
Of course, if you're at the Poly, your option of last resort would be to hit Captain Cook's, which is their 24 hour CS (or at least used to be). Warning, don't expect anything hot after 11:00 PM or so.
Another place of last resort is Steak and Shake out on SR 535/Apopka-Vineland Road just north of the WDW entrance. They have their full menu 24 hours a day.

12163 S. Apopka-Vinland Rd. Orlando FL 32836

Yahoo! Maps, Driving Directions, and Traffic

Of course, if you come into WDW on Western Way, you'll be on the other side of "the world" and this would be out of your way.

Re: Where should we eat?

Thanks soundgod- we will be taking the new route through nowhere land- as I call it. Last time, we were driving in at about 9 pm, and we saw the fireworks for EPCOT. it was FUNNN!!!! We might have to play this by ear... I am not really going to need to eat much. There is a great view of fireworks from there... it feels like you are watching it from a neighboring island... and you will never really get there...

Re: Where should we eat?

Hanwill, Wishes from outside the park, in fact any MK fireworks from outside the park, even without music, is something I recommend. I've even seen Wishes and Illuminations from a 7th floor I Drive hotel room. Wishes was great, even that far away although it took me a few moments to realize I was watching Wishes and not just some random fireworks show in a non Disney location. I could even recognize the castle once I realized what I was seeing.
Illuminations on the other hand should only be viewed from inside the park. There is far too much flame and video and far too little high in the sky fireworks to really enjoy from anywhere else. (You know I'm right)
